Idk about this low block defence. I like this team because of the attacking spirit, high line defence and naive defending. I hope we continue like this going forward. If we loose because of that, no problem. At some point we will have a team that can compete again

About Pique, Alba, Busquets and co.:
1) First of all Xavi had no opportunity to get rid of them, so who knows how ruthless he can be. But Laporta, Alemany play a bigger role anyway.
2) We need alternatives. We axe Busquets and then what?

The seniors can still contribute to getting top 4. First step should be getting rid of the true dead weight.

Likes of Pique and Busquets lack the dignity to know their time is up. It's a shame and to think they are captains too is tragic. Every year we sink to a new low and they still think they're good enough. It just reeks of ignorance and delusion. They should be the first ones out in the summer but watch them stick around for another season. They also seem to escape criticism from the local media in Barcelona. I've never heard them get called out it's like they are untouchable or something.

I mean nobody should be shocked at this point, we all knew the squad has huge flaws in advance to this game.

Team lacks basically everything, pick what you want. Like even technique isn't what it used to be for the most part, and let's not even start with speed, intensity, decision making etc.

The veterans aren't cutting it anymore, seeing Pique and Busquets nowadays is just tragic. But that doesn't automatically make the young players good, most are just average or still too young. We basically don't have a single reliable top class player in the 23-30 age range, not a single one. Frenkie is good, but he still doesn't have a leading role in midfield. Besides that? Ter Stegen who can't stop making stupid mistakes, always injured/out of form Dembele, failed Coutinho for the few people still remembering him, Depay who is alright for a free transfer but that's it...and that leaves us with basically just a bunch of talents in their 1st/2nd real season, some past-their-prime veterans who aren't world class any longer but still think they are and players like Roberto, Braithwaite, Luuk...

All of this goes back to the countless failed transfers of the last 5 years, most notably after Neymar left. Basically every big transfer since then failed and we wasted a comical amount of money in the process, and even all the smaller flops that could be sold again didn't get us anywhere when it comes to developing a team. To this day i still can't really process how we spent 400M on 3 players and all of them flopped spectacularly, that's just so crazy to think about. We could desperately need that money now, but either way the lack of a new grown team core would still be an issue even if we had more cash to waste now.

This team would need AT LEAST one experienced world class defender, midfielder and attacker right now to get back some structure short term. But that won't happen, so it'll take a while to form a proper team again.

We might have a shot in EL, if we get some momentum but realistically that's the current level.

Good post in a sea of bad posts. The players just aren't there to compete at the top level. It's amazing how Messi, even at the age he is now, carried us the past few years while everything was crumbling around him.

It's going to take 3-4 years before we are back to competing at the top level and that's only if we get 90% of the transfers right.

Only 2 goals scored in CL, then Bayern scored 22. This is a huge problem, we just don't have goalscorers after Messi left. We need huge shake up in attack. I would keep only Fati and Abde and get rid of all other attackers.

He should choose best team and not biggest names in the starting 11. Simple as that! It's time to decide which style and formation he wants to use and than field the best players for that exact formation. Midfielders should be midfielders, full backs should be full backs and wingers should be wingers.

It's really time to stop playing some players out of their natural positions. That should be the start. He should also determine if Fati will be used on the wing or as a no.9 and act on the winter market according to that. He should decide if FDJ is interior or DM, stop using Gavi as a winger, Dest all over the field and Araujo and Mingueza as full backs.

IMHO buying players like Olmo would only worsen things. He needs to clearly state if he needs a winger or No.9. If winger is our priority it should be clearly stated is it a RW or LW because that's not even remotely similar. I am honestly sick of our constant improvisation on the field.
