Really hard to take European qualifiers seriously when you see scorelines like this

And to build on that statement, very hard to take Penaldo’s NT goal record seriously too. Especially when you have seen breakdowns of who those goals were scored against.

Doesn't take away my point.
What was the point?

You realize, for example, Italy happened to fail for WC after just winning the Euro.

Just because there are small states it still doesn't take away Europe is by far the best Continent and, in reality, should have even more representatives because most of their teams beat Asians or Africans easily.

For me, based on quality, and in ideal format, World Cup final tournament should have 12 teams from Europe and rest of the world 4.

Main point is that you don't really see scorelines like that in other continents in the final stage of WC qualifying round. UEFA should structure the format of qualifying better to ensure a more competitive WC qualifying for UEFA nations.

Italy not making the WC after winning the Euros? Chile didn't made the WC2018 after winning Copa Americas 2 times and reaching the Confederations Cup final in 2017. USA didn't made the WC2018 after winning the 2017 Gold Cup. Shit happens. Maybe Italy should have done better in their qualifying group/play offs - It's not like their opponents were Germany or France.

All the other points that you mentioned are another topic to discuss.

In what way should they structure it? It's the qualifiers, not the final tournament.

Speaking of which, bet there will be some "interesting" results in upcoming World Cup, given they enlarged it to the point of absurdity. And I also bet none of the teams who will get hammered by more than 4-5 goals will be from Europe.

Primary idea of WC is a world festival of football and popularization of the game. If it's mostly European nations, we might get really good and dramatic games but it would be boring if there are no nations from all over the world

Europe already have a tonne of nations in the World Cup with its qualification model literally built so every top team makes it. There's so many shit teams in the Europe qualifiers where players literally statpad.

It's not everyone else's fault that Italy cannot beat North Macedonia in the playoffs and don't make the WC.

4-1 away against Italy. We used to be the laughing stock of Scandinavian national teams just some years ago. Now we are by far the best, and a team that’s feared by everyone. What a turnaround. Proud of the boys, and especially Haaland.
