Few of us begrudge him doing so well for PSG. But at Barca, every player must subordinate his ego to Messi. Also, every player must find a role that fits it to maximize Messi's potential. These attributes are more important than pure individual talent.

Barca only wants players who realize who is the meal ticket. They have found a lot of real winners who are willing to play second fiddle to the best player ever. But most super-striker types just have to be the center of attention.

Just crazy. Clubs like PSG and Monaco are ruining the trf market. Marquinhos is a kid who's had one decent season in Serie A. Its not like he's a striker who scored 15-20 goals. He's a defender ffs!!! 35 million for PSG is like 3.5 million. These guys will throw money at anything that moves. If we asked for 300 million for Messi they would probably pay cash on the day itself. The only way we can compete is via a smart scouting system and La Masia. Unless a player wants to play for us (Neymar, Alexis) we will have difficult attracting talent. Clubs like PSG don't have to sell either which makes it hard for us. Look at Utd and even Arsenal. They have the money but the prices of players have skyrocketed.

If you look at Chelsea its worked for them. They just keep throwing $hit at the wall and hope it sticks. Even though they have had a merry go round of managers they have still won trophies on a consistent basis. They also managed to win the CL. I think they set a bad example and now PSG have an even more ambitious agenda-win CL within 4 years. Of course just buying players is not enough but PSG will stick to it until they have success.

We made a big mistake by not signing Thiago Silva 2 seasons ago. Instead we signed Cesc and Sanchez and look whats happened............................................
