You always ignore the fact that Rafa beat Federer 3 times at Australian Open and at Wimbledon during Roger's absolute prime.
Outside clay, they're 4-4 in GS encounters...6-0 on clay.
It's a well known fact that Nadal is a terrible matchup for Federer. Federer improved against him later in his career but Rafa's game suits Federer matchups.

Nice one. Didn’t even think so myself, but I tend to be pessimistic when it comes to Ruud. Not that Rune played his best tennis tonight and that surely helped Ruud, but still a great performance by my boy. Shame that this smells like another final loss. Especially as it will be against Djoko or Alcaraz. Ruud just doesn’t have that dog in him.
