If the retards we had in charge didn't agree to a 50m buyout clause for him we wouldn't have this problem today.

No low buyout clause would mean no contract renewal with a much, much higher salary and he would be gone now.

dzeko and the roma midfield were playing long balls and manhandling our backline.

i wonder if umtiti has ptsd from that defensive performance the same way barca fans do

Sure when you look at it this way but when we've signed Umtiti in 2016 his 60m clause was still considered relatively high on the market. World record transfer fee at the time was still 101m (Bale to Madrid in 2013) and most expensive CBs was David Luiz (50m to PSG in 2014/15 followed by Rio Ferdinand to United in 2002/03). Later that summer City paid 55m for Stones so Umtiti would still be considered as most expensive CB if United would execute his clause back then.

Some of our issues were self inflicted but obligatory release clauses in La Liga are just stupid and we've paid price for that as well.

A lot of rumors back then. ManU especially wanted to sign him and had no problem throwing 60 mils at him. Umtiti wanted to stay with Barca or got the salary he wanted.

Most of the Barca fans were scared ManU could buy him for only 60 mil.

It was an OK price for that level Umtiti.


Now Umtiti is valued at 8 mil by transfermarkt. lol

Nobody could have predicted this outcome. Unless they knew about his bum knee.

Don't know how reliable this guy is but fingers crossed. Even if true he'd probably reject them because they're not a big enough club for him or smh though.

Huge club. 2 games from CL football.

Umtiti should be all over this if true. Benfica repeatedly sell their players for big money, so there is potential for another financial windfall a year or two down the line.

10m for Umtiti and Umtiti on his wages is a very poor investment, I sincerely doubt this is real, but even if it is he will not accept to go to Benfica
