Samuel Umtiti

Can't blame Griezmann for Barca's stupidity (I mean who wouldn't accept an abnormal raise in salary, I know I would). However, if the argument is about Griezmann's performance, then he was one of our best performers last season, it's unfortunate that we had bad financial management but we can't blame it on the players.
He took paycut to join Barcelona

This man will apparently only leave for an elite club or a club with chance to win trophies.

Have a feeling Umtiti genuinely believes he's still an elite CB. Just go to Besiktas ffs.

Seems a nice guy but doesn't want to leave as he has it good in Barcelona.

With his knee problem and performances he knows this is the best contract of his lifetime and he is not going to cut it short. Just like Alexander Song.

The talk of only wanting an elite club is his agents way of squashing any chance of a sale.

Dudes not going unless it's a loan which maintains his current wages and Barcelona covering a %- which is the best we can hope for.

Why should a team not be allowed to register the players they want? Makes no sense.

Send umititi to the sidelines where he can earn paycheck doing nothing.

No he was trash last season and the season before.
Just running and tracking back, nothing else, plus missing easy sitters day in day out.

Without Messi, no excuses left for him: If it's psychological, it should be solved now
If he does not turn up into what he was at Atleti (prediction: he won't), he goes down as the worst signing (of the major ones) the last 20 years that wore the Barca shirt

Because even if we register Umtiti or not we still have to pay him. Rules are there to 'protect' a club from going bankrupt.

If we could "unregister" him so he wouldn't count against salary cap limit then I don't think the club would have much problems paying him his wages to sit on the sidelines if we couldn't offload him. Money/liquidity is not our main problem, getting under salary limit is. But that's not possible. Players who were here last season must be registered again unless they leave. I think there are also possibilities to not register a player if he's longterm injured (6+ months) but maybe that's just for purpose of shirt numbers registration (because the club can only register 25 first team players) and his wages still count against salary cap, not totally sure about that. But Umtiti is fit to play now so we can't use that anyway.

Either way, no need to say the club has to pay player's wages as long as he's under contract whether he's registered or not otherwise this is a serious breach of contractual obligations.

That would in theory mean we could have 10 players unregistered but still on our payroll, while registering only those we want for Liga.
That, in turn, would mean we pay 100+ % of our revenue, while only accounting for 70 % with the Liga registrations.
It'd make the rules obsolete if we could go around it like that.
