Always liked the guy.
He is the ultimate squad player who will do whatever it takes to impress his coach. Probably won't turn a starter but he will be valuable player for long time.

Which is great. Being a squad player at Barcelona is not easy. You still have to be very very good. And he is helping the team. He scored 3 goals in the last 4 Liga games, and he's taken very very few shots to accomplish that number. Basically converted almost every attempt into a goal.

His dribbling is sharp and he's taking his chances. I like that. He is far from being a very good midfielder for us, but, like Denis, he can contribute to the team, especially when played a little higher on the pitch, where he can use his sharpness more.

Which is excactly my point, people complain a lot about prospect/young player A or B who will never be a starter at Barca but the truth is being a good squad player is very important and good accomplishment.
We would pay 15-25M in most cases to get a good back up. if players like Rafinha & Denis turned out "just" good squad players then they have saved us some money.

He is showing exactly what the team needs for alternatives outside of the first 11. He's looking like this year's Sergi Roberto, the 12th man, play him in several positions.

His broken knee was missed during the CL run then. Our depth was not good with Arda not integrated so maybe just maybe he will offer that awesome rotation option.

Glad to see him proving doubters wrong.

I was also thinking yesterday that we could've had back to back trebles if he wasn't injured last season. Not saying he alone would win us CL but as mentioned he could give rest to Rakitić/Iniesta and maybe also Messi/Ney so they'd be more rested in April and that collapse maybe wouldn't happen. Because there is no doubt that Lucho would give him a lot of minutes if he'd been healthy.
