His best at Porto was at AM with freedom to get in box like a white Bellingham at times.

Will take time if it is to work at him being a top DM.. if ever works.

It's a no at DM based on what I've seen. Even at Barcelona he was some sort of box to box, with some skills at popping up in attack. He has a pretty wide set of skills, but he's not very good at neither. Some sort of box to box at a B side is best position for him.

He was box to box and a 10 a lot in youth categories and in latter years they tried to make him more of a 6.

Probably not helped him how much has been shifted about in positions really but seems like Pep thinks can make him at DM.

I think Rodri has some box to box qualities also, also not a very traditional DM, but he does everything better than Nico.

Rodri is the best DM going who can also play box to box when needed as he did more before injury.

Can see him pushing for Real Madrid move soon enough if this City side he doesnt think can compete for everything when back.

One thing pep needs to get over is having one technical winger in the XI at all times.

Just play two proper wingers ffs, also swap haaland with Isak if possible, that marriage is not a functional one

Pep might be dealing with some burnout as a manager, it happens to everyone, but they don't seem to be hitting the transfers right. They had a hit and miss record even in the past when they built that 4 league titles in a row squad, but they had some big hits also, players like De Bruyne, Bernardo, Rodri, and some others. If they don't replicate that with 5-6 inspired signings, they're in trouble.

De Bruyne left, Bernardo looks finished for me, as is Gundogan, and the replacements aren't up to par at all so far. Foden, Grealish, those didn't last the distance and lost motivation and edge pretty fast.
