Pep is hilarious. In post-match pressy, he was visibly upset with CP's tactics including timewasting and talked about how it ruined his team's rhythm. He then compared it to how Barca plays.
Pep finally, finally stumbled on a weird formation that allowed these players to work well together. We had a settled back four with Nunes, Dias, Gvardiol, and O'Reilly, Bernardo and Kovacic in between, and then a combination of players not involving Haaland up front. What does he do today? Oh, change the back four, play a midfield with a massive hole in it, and shoves Haaland back in because eh why the fuck not.

Deep inside he knows that wining with $heik's oil money is NOT greatest Pleasure & Joy coach can have + Pellegrini or Mancini could have done that, too... he craves real Challenge, being Underdog, being Passionate and Inspiring for tearing down richer, most powerful clubs... being Favorite and Upperdog and buying every player you want is not fulfilling for him! He pretends he is passionate but that fakeness is eating his Soul... Flick is doing what he would like to do... at night he dreams he is Flick and leads La Masia to Trophies...
You should all be thanking god that he does not want to return to barca. Manager completely exhausted and finished, with no ideas and no flexibility. One stubborn way of playing that everybody knows and refuses to make any changes. Touchline wingers not allowed to drift inside, slow possession, no counterattacks allowed. He's the first person that would glue raphinha to the touchline just like xavi and not allow any direct balls to attack space.
Imagine spending so much money on the biggest machine in Haaland and telling everyone that they are not allowed to run counterattacks and give him direct balls to use his pace and strength. Instead he makes him just camp the box. Fraud of a manager that was surpassed years ago.
I pray he stays as far from barcelona as possible.
It kinda surprises me Pep let himself do what he did. For the bigger part of his career he always takled about cycles, about Cruyff's idea that every 3-4 seasons you have to change the manager to avoid getting tired of each other, lose ideas, get complacent... At City he did exactly what he said he won't, I guess that comfortable club where he held everything in his hands was the easy but not the right choice. He should have left after the treble, it's gonna be hard to reverse them back now and he looks like a shell of himself.
He should take a sabbatical and figure out if he wants this or not. It's the first time since 2008 that I'm not sure if Pep would be the right choice for us (he won't come back), he couldn't do what Flick did this season in the state that he's in now.
