Do we have as much money as man utd to keep pumping money in year after after?.
Yep let's see all our best players as every one around us gets better because la Liga is so shit they will give us a top 4 spot.
Stupid shit shouldn't have to explain why.
In a perfect world we would find a magical unicorn that fixes all of this for us or we get bailed out like. Madrid back in the day.
While in the real world, hard decisions have to me made, when weighing all possible alternatives.
If anyone went back & gave Valencia/depor the choice between keeping their best players, finishing their stadium, competing at the level they had gotten use to or selling all their best players and the results of that being what they are. They choice would be a easy one.
Opportunity cost.
I agree signing the CVC deal looks short sighted "take the money now, later we'll figure it out". Problem is with current finances this 3-5 years rebuild thing might never happen when top players look for the exit in an underachieving club. In terms of underachieving the thing we witness at Man Utd, Arsenal and to give a local example - Valencia, who are in rebuild since the mid 00's, selling their best players to finance the Nou Mestalla stadium initially (after the 2007-2008 financial crisis), then bad management and ownership change, etc.
Thank goodness we have people in charge of the club that understand basic economic concepts, selling Windows is never a smart idea to save Microsoft.
We will see how it all works out in the end.
Ironically the downfall of those clubs were the uneven distributioks of the TV rights.
Have them on the deals Madrid and Barcelona were on and they would be top clubs still.
Ironically those tv right benefits we have, is what we have given up 25% of.
