Remember that other time Bilbao won the league, in 1956. Remember that other time, in 1956, when Bilbao won the league and Barcelona went to buy directly from Bilbao Basque legends like Istvan Nyers the subsequent season.

Ah remember that other time, it was 1956 was it, yeah 1956, when Bilbao won the league, and Barcelona went and poached the Basque legend Istvan Nyers. Well he was Hungarian at the time, and playing at Roma, but that Summer, the other Summer of 1956, the other time where Bilbao had just won the league, a German lad told me he was Basque that Summer, and actually signed from Bilbao. Coz they won the league.

Ah yes, I remember that other time.

Bayern and the entire German football establishment has made it a routine policy to transfer the best players to Bayern from any team that dears to challenge them for the league title.

If you can't see a issue with that, I don't know what to tell you.

Thankfully wirtz has more imagination than that, because Bayer would definitely have sold to them.

It's as much the selling club being a problem has bayern, no ambition and competitive spirit.

wait, they dont want their best player going to a rival, thats really crazy
wau, Bilbao is as much competition to you as Dortmund or Leverkusen is to Bayern; man the hypocrisy here, like listening to european politicians
These Bayern fans and their club must have been rattled by the Wirtz deal.
After so many long years they finally have a German player who actually refused to join thier "Elite" club. And now theres another player who would rather take a lower salary than join Bayern.

Signs of the future. There be more of these.

All this COPE as thier own fantasy world is upside down right now. LOL.

Would think if club made a promise to Nico when he renewed the ought to keep it unless they said it doesn't apply to Barca or RM.

Nico did them a huge favour staying and they also have his brother. I don't think they would fuck over their talents/stars like this. If there is a club I think would keep their word it would be Athletic.

Yea because Athletic has won league titles in recent memory then we go out to by their best player.

Atletico is the club comparison you are looking for
and you never bought a player from Atletico ? To me its clear as day Billbao wants him to go to Bayern, so they do consider you a rival.
