Just sign the man ffs.

The W for the club is too easy with this one.

Don't listen to the hippies they are always wrong.

Although a few who's opinion I respect also haven't seen the light yet, once he signs they will come around.

It's a lay up, don't fuck it up please

I have no doubt that he will get enough minutes, but if he wants to join us, he will have to take a pay cut, and I'm not sure he wants to do that.

Finances is another issue, and it is a complicated topic tbh because we don't know how much can we afford. Are we 1:1? Better?
Are we selling some players? etc.

Nico seems like a loyal kid who is enjoying his career with Bilboa, and he is paid well for a club like that. He is one of the most sought after LW in the world too and it isn't just Barca as his option.

Mike the Knife
May 21st is Europa League Final
May 26th is Champions League Final
June 30th is the FFP/VIP deadline

July 1 is beginning of transfer window in Spain

But be certain that negotiations will more or less continue from where it was left last summer when Nico opted to remain in light of all the uncertainties about registration (Which proved to be wise on his part and thereby binning the ’Barça train left’ narrative.

By July 1, we may know whether the VIP sales will be accepted by Tebas et al…or worse still, go on into appeals etc which would rule any big signing out, nevermind Nico

If it’s up to player, only the truly cynical would doubt where the player would like to continue his career…the noise about Premiership etc is just that, noise. I an confident this family kid will remain in Spain, now it’s a matter of Laporta getting everything over the line

The bench players for big clubs were usually starters in smaller ones.
They get paid better and compete for titles while doing so.
Also, Nico would likely get at least 2k minutes in a club like Barca if he joins.

However, he is more likely to walk into starting lineup for some other big clubs too. Like Bayern and Arsenal, maybe Liverpool.
Yes, you may be right, only that, and thankfully enough, most, if not all players do not think this way.
Your playing time equates your value. The more you play, the more prominent add visible you become, the higher your value gets.

This is why many players dont mind leaving bigger clubs if they have their playing time restricted there, to a relatively smaller one where the national team handlers are able to see them more regularly, especially when events lije the World cup are approaching. He wont be stupid to move to a bench role in a year oreceding the world cup. Not all footballers are daft.

And you are wrong, he cant walk into current Bayern team on both wings, Arsenal is doubful because he does not offer anything better than Martinelli(forget the Euro hype and take time to watch his full matches)and certainly cant unseat a Saka, Liverpool is also up in the air as the only thing he might have above Diaz is pace and Sallah is Mo Sallah

Second game I have watched him whole game. Was arguably the worst player on the park, even before the red card.

First touch of Penaldo in Vegas. Kept giving the ball away like a Prime Gerard Martin. Poor weight of pass generally.

We have been warned and warned and warned by this guy himself with his performances that he is not Barca level.

I hope these days we are more flexible than bullheaded as we were in the past ( Griezmann etc )

Baena is amazing, but not what we need.

@Joan had a point he made before, PSG attacking line has Barcola (45M), Dembele (50) Doue (50M) and Kvara (70M) and all are arguably World Class wingers. At 62M and massive salary demands, and loyalty to Bilbao, we shouldn't be married to the idea of Nico or bust. We need to be always exploring the market.

A great LW will add a lot to the team, no doubt, but I don't think it is bigger priority that fullbacks. Those should be addressed first.

That doesn't mean he will be a bad signing, though.
