Mahomes has an aura around him that makes the other team self destruct - very similar to Brady

Eagles shat themselves this half

Not in overall SBs.

But the combo of stats + rings + MVPs - Mahomes has a good chance

I'm not so sure about that. Mahomes won't take less money to surround himself with talent like Brady did. Andy Reid is old and won't be here for that long I think and guys like Kelce have a couple of years max left.

There will be a lot of change in Kansas City in the near future and the AFC is packed with quality young QBs.

Mahomes probably becomes #2 though to Brady.

One thing tonight made even clearer is that it's time for Green Bay to move on from Rodgers. It's over and time to rebuild and see if Jordan Love is it, and if not, draft Caleb Williams or Drake Maye in 2024.

But the Championship window is shut down.

Gimme two first round picks and a second and/or third and send him on his way to the Jets.

Congrats to Kansas City, especially happy for Andy Reid who besides being a great coach is also a genuinely cool and fun guy.

NO ONE has started a career like Patrick Mahomes
5 years as a starter
5 straight Championship Games
5 straight Division Titles
5 straight 12-win seasons
5 straight Pro Bowls
2 Super Bowl wins
2 Super Bowl MVPs
2 NFL MVPs

Like Mahomes as well although would like some of the younger QBs like Josh Allen and Joe Burrow to get their rings as well in near future. Should be a great and fun competition between them in the AFC over next decade, let's see which franchise will build the best team around their young QB. One pro for the Chiefs is they've now also won it while paying Mahomes big money not only when he was still on a rookie contract few years ago. But his cap hit was still "only" around 35m this season, it will go up to 50m next year and then around 45m following few years before jumping to 60m in 2027 (long way till then though and they'll surely restructure it while OTOH cap will also increase; by then paying 55-60m for top QBs could be totally normal anyway). Will be interesting to see what contract Burrow will get. The same for Jalen Hurts. But last two SBs were a lost opportunities for both the Bengals and the Eagles who could build their teams while still paying their QBs peanuts. Now it will be different for them.

Agree with this. Hopefully once Rodgers comes back from his darkness trip he will see the light. Let the Jets and Raiders get into a bidding war for him.

See what we’ve got with Love next season. If he sucks, then the team will suck and we can take a new QB in the 2024 draft.

Looks like it's happening wisconsincule

A bit sad about it tbh, it's the end of an era. It's been a privilege watching Rodgers play, but it was just time. Hopefully we get good compensation.

AR going to the Jets, you think?

In other QB news, Derek Carr has signed with the Saints after being released by the Raiders, the Giants have extended Daniel Jones and Baltimore have used the non-exclusive franchise tag on Lamar which means Jackson can negotiate with other teams when free agency starts next week and if he signs somewhere else and they decide not to match their offer they'll get two 1st round picks from that team.

And we have extended Geno. Pretty happy with that after seeing more details of the contract.

The #Seahawks? deal with Geno Smith has a base value of $25 million per season (three years, $75 million) with $40 million fully guaranteed at signing, sources say.

Smith will earn $28 million in the first year of the deal. He has $30 million in incentives.

He has only earned around 17,5m so far in his 10 year career and is now guaranteed to get more than double that.

But even from the Seahawks perspective not a bad deal. Can cut him after first season with 12m dead money if they decide to do so. Still wouldn't be surprised to see us drafting a QB with one of our two 1st round picks.

Someone like Anthony Richardson could be a possibility. He has great upside but clearly needs a "redshirt" year. Will Levis probably in the mix as well.

But if the draft won't fall our way we can also just go defense (can use help basically everywhere) and OL (Austin Blythe has retired so we need a centre and also a guard) heavy in first two rounds and then maybe get a developmental QB in 3rd-4th round.

Can also always expect John Schneider to trade down from #5 if he gets a good offer.
