Should have bought him last year, or another youngster similar instead of Alonso. Surely couldn't have done worse, and would be one year in of experience.

This is the sort of signing we should be making, not 30m on Neves or 60m on Zubimendi, 7m on Azpi or 40m on Foyth. It's where we are now.

Betting high amounts on favourites trying to make a steady profit ain't going to cut it. It's like when your at the casino and you know you are fucked and you keep taking small punts on ridiculous odds to make your money back. That's us now.

Bring a few 17 year old Brazilians as well while you are at it. La Liga is a pub league now, the step up is not as big as it once was.

Why didn't we sign this guy earlier? He moved to Croatia like 4 months ago.

I think the other question is why didn't Dinamo Zagrib sign him when he trialled there before signing for the League 2 side. Zagreb are a notorious reselling club.

Like I said, a few red flags with that one, and the French moves failing to materialize.

Not going to begrudge is for missing out before his Europe move, but he looks fantastic in the highlights going back to U17 World Cup a few years back.

So something is off somewhere. Cue him actually being 28 or his dad is an African Warlord trading with Yemeni freedom fighters.

I think our luck with buying young CBs hasn't been that bad for cheap.

Marlon, Todibo, Araujo etc.

While Todibo and Marlon didn't end up with the first team long-term they did fetch us money and they have ended up proving they are good enough for top-level football in places like Ligue 1 and Serie A.

Heck even though Santiago Bueno didn't work out here, he still ended up forging a career with Girona and has put himself as an option for Uruguay as well.

I hope Faye can be like the three above at least and not end up being some bad dud like some of the other B team signings in recent years.

Yeah, I was wondering the same, why Dinamo Zagreb didn't sign him when he was training with him, and why and how he "disappeared for a while" and ended up not signing with OM. Not sure if it was due to some discipline issues, if so we should straighten him up and nip any problems in the bud when it is still early.
