Memphis Depay

The swap between Memphis and Inter's Correa seems to be unsuccessful. The Carrasco option remains the most interesting. [as] #fcblive

correa and carrasco are bums. there goes the theory that you can sign mediocre players for free and sell them on for a couple of mil. no one wants to pay for bums.

at most a swap for another bum can be arranged, but you end up with another dead-weight on the books.

Fake news.

Teams would have paid for Depay last summer and now but he doesnt want to go.

Depay been a worthehile signing for free and same claimed about others such as Christensen..

Depay is class player, but Xavi clearly sees him unsuitable to his vision.

Memphis arrived for free, will depart on free. Unless we swap him for someone crazy.

Don't think so. Xavi would allow a transfer if he gets properly replaced or brings in enough money. But if not Xavi will see Memphis as useful sub on on the way to winning La Liga.

Memphis was injured for a long period, didn't prepare properly for the World Cup and since his return he was featured only against Intercity. In the forwards hierarchy he's the 4th option after Lewa, Ansu and Ferran. And I'm not counting Dembele and Raphinha.

Xavi, of course, enjoys the squad depth and wouldn't sell anyone in this period of the season.

All in all it's bad for Depay. He is at prime age as footballer and it'd be better for his career to play regularly somewhere else. Not spend his best years warming the bench for Ferran or someone else.

He's class and at a prime age yet no CL club wants him. Let's cut the bullshit, the guy is a luxury player that not many want in their team.
Too high maintenance for the output and inconsistency he provides.

Malvolio has absolutely no idea who wants Depay.

Was a good signging on a free for where club were at time.

Lets see if he ends up in a 'CL team' or not.

Well if Inter is his best option on free, he is shit player.

Wonder why Arsenal don't get him, he can be worse version of Jesus.

He doesn't want to join Inter and Xavi reportedly also refused to let him leave for Joaquin Correa.

Atletico won't trade Carrasco for him. Perhaps try with Angel Correa instead

People want to throw him out, but the reality is having a backup player the level of Depay is pretty rare. He was one of the best players in France the season before we signed and would still likely get into any starting XI outside the top10 teams. Not many teams in the world can say they have substitutes of that level - look at Madrid, Ceballos is one of their first subs, lol.

He isn't a top-level player and not better than the starters at the moment but we can do worse for the bench.

If we pick up some injuries in attack, which can and does happen, do we want to have to play Ilias and Fabio Blanco there or Depay? As long as his wage is small no problem for him to stay and be a substitute...

Surely Ceballos is much preferable to Depgay.
We already knew he was a bit shit when he arrived from France with that penalty-doped record, playing as a free star player for a decent side in that weak league, allowed to make as many mistakes he wanted to in order to assist or score once in a while.

He doesn't play now? How many men in front of him? What is his age? Will he ever play again? Why not sell him, and get someone in his position who might develop into something later? Who is surely on a smaller wage etc.
I am just glad I don't have to see him for a while tbh. But he is of no use of course, only a burden.

He is leaving for free

The brother isn't signing again to warm the bench
