Showing levels to Madrid's "new gen" midfield

At 40 years old clears Cumavinga, Tchumeni and co. Only Valverde, who plays RB in big games, and injured Ceballos are currently better in Madrid's midfield.

This thread is the classic example of big club halo and how biased and clueless Football fans are in general.

In the first few pages people were talking of him like he was a bang average player and a scrub.

Just because he played for a smaller club Spurs, nobody here rated him.

Anyone who actually watched him at Spurs knew how brilliant he was.

He was excellent at Spurs. No idea why anyone wouldn't have rated him there. First time I seen him was in a qualifier at Wembley in 2007 and he dominated much older players in Gerrard and Lampard, who were in their prime then.

He had a tough start to his Real Madrid career and a lot of football fans wrote him off. But he came back strong. Although to be fair as great as he always looked I am not sure most people would have seen a top 6-10 midfielder ever career coming.
