4-0 win last night for Rayo in Conference League - they dominated Neman and even sat some of their starters (including Ratiu) but only unlocked the match in final 30 minutes. Neman were pretty poor

Pitch looks poor, hard to say how much impacted the match since Neman never really came to play - squeezing the pitch and keeping their shape for the first hour

Supposed to be natural grass but hasn't held up well, ball rolls slower - I understand they have had drainage issues too

I've never even heard of Neman - Belarussian club apparently. There's some obscure clubs in the Conference League.

Conference league is where all the footballing hipster cunts hang out.

Doing YouTube videos about an away day in Neman, what to eat there on a matchday, the best coffee there and where the Supreme store is.

Back when you were a young hipster, two seasons ago.

Now the new hipsters hang out in the real conference league. Watching Yeovil and having Munsters pies for breakfast.
Sounds good. Players knowing fans by name and getting beer chucked over them when they miss a sitter.

It's good fun if you got one of those small clubs who tries and plays football a bit.

Not so fun in winter when you gotta warm yourself up with a sewer water coffee though.
Aye they say it really is the real experience of football.

Stopping joking for a moment, I know the game is of a very high quality at the elite level, mainly in the PL (even if guys like me and malvolio and barcaman don't enjoy it as much anymore) but it really is very sanitised isn't it? The entire experience of going to a stadium etc. I understand that's good for parents and families, and I am not suggesting we go back to the hooliganism of the 70s and 80s (it does still exist a fair bit now but not like that back then), but it would still be nice to see the game feel a bit more 'real' at the elite level.

It's hard to explain, it just feels a bit artificial. Maybe 'soulless' is too strong a word, but there's definitely a greater detachment between players and fans than ever before.

There's still good fan experience in other countries, such as Germany.

I guess it just all boils down to money.

It's a commercial product now.

But maybe it is just like this in the big 3/4 leagues now?

Id imagine, and this is just an off the head assessment, but Real Madrid visiting Celtic Park would still have that us versus them big match feel to it of old.

I think though the problem for yourself is that deepdown you miss Alex Fergusons United. You didn't realize it until this post, but all the best Marvel movies had the biggest bad to overcome.

Now all the EPL had was Peps City. Who was a kind of likeable rich kid. But nothing to inherently dislike apart from Peps choice of fashion.

But Fergusons Man United with the refs in their pocket and their arrogance was the biggest cunts there is.

How good was it when Blackburn won the EPL for example. Or when Everton beat them in the FA Cup final.

Hahaha good point. Tbh I still enjoy watching them struggle. I have said before that them struggling, Yamal and Pedri are what I mostly like about modern football, lol.

Btw did Everton beat them in the FA Cup Final? Didn't Cantona score the only goal of the game?

Your thinking of the year after when Man Utd beat Liverpool. I remember watching that and thinking, "you can't win an FA cup final with a guy called Phil Babb in your lineup".
