Maybe they're anticipating Araujo leaving still for all we know.

Yeah him or someone else.

Get RB cover and you have Kounde as an option at CB also if came to it with injuries etc.

Just cant see them planning on 5 CBs and back ups on that big a salaries.

Tah is like 29. Solid 4 years left in him.
He will be Inigo's replacement in 2026. If we get him, we will be set at the back with backups.

Cuba - Araujo/Inigo Starter.
Tah, Garcia, Inigo as backups. Christensen leaves.
Get Faye in 2026, and ease him into the team. Inigo leaves. We good we cooking.

Inigo will be a starting lineup player next season too if Barcelona don't buy a high level left-footed defender.

You probably don't realize how important it is for Flick to have a left-footed central defender.

Araujo will leave in the summer 100%. I'm pretty sure Flick rates Garcia above Araujo right now.

People who keep posting about Araujo, who has a pretty low game IQ and is terrible on the ball as a starting lineup player should be banned from this forum, in addition to being checked into a mental hospital.

Jonathan Tah is set to join Barcelona as a free agent this summer. The Bayer Leverkusen defender has chosen Barça as his next club, and with Bayern Munich dropping out of the race, the Catalans are now the only contenders for his signing. @jbatalla7

Not really news, we've heard this for some time now. I think it is a statement of intent by Flick & club, they will fortify even in positions of strength to ensure excellent depth

Same will apply to winger & midfield positions I believe, should the right profile player(s) be attainable

Nah.. sorry 'Tah'.. but this is 100% with sale of CB in mind and most likely Araujo.

100% know for a fact they were trying to shop him last summer before the injury and would guess they were happy to see him go in Jan but no real big offer and it was bad optics to be choosing to sell a captain an fairly popular player. It would have been framed they had to for financial reasons.

This way they keep him for few more months. See if Flick can improve him or fit to system and if anyone pays clause the club will say 'we did not choose to sell him an he demanded the clause to renew'.

Things can always change if he performs though. Thats his challenge.

We are truly an incompetent club if he joins Bayern next season. It's an absolute joke.

A season where we needed a 3rd CB during the first half of the season.
34 year old Inigo will be our starter. Jesus.

He's not an option for us, he already said he wants his future sorted in a few weeks. No way our amateurs sign him so soon, best we can offer is 31st of August and registration in September.

German fans doubt he'll be a fit for Flick's system, as he has never played a high back-line before. It's certainly a risk, because he's 29 and is signing his last contract without a fee, so his salary demand will be high.

If he comes or goes to Bayern it will make zero defense to our defense.

He was just a good business opportunity, to get a player that's on the same level of all our current defenders maybe even a step below for free, if you sell araujo for a good fee, can't really say no to that.

But as it relates to improving our defense, 0 defense.

Our defense will be improved more by having a fit Christensen and flick making adjustments to improve the defense, that he's hinted at.

Tah has a huge strength compared to most of our CBs which is availability, he rarely misses a game.
Besides, Flick lauds Iñigo for adapting to a new play style, I can't see why Tah won't be able to do that.
