I just told you the official reasons, you don't have to like them, but I understand them. Conflict of interest is above everything and all logic.
I am fine with the purpose behind the policy, but prefer stricter internal controls and checks and balances over our President having to step down for 6 months and handing over the keys to his BFF. This doesn't inspire "more" confidence in me.
What Yuste does or not for Laporta during this time is a different matter. We're talking strictly about the general club's politics.
But it matters unless you believe they are truly independent from one another. Yuste wants Laporta to win as much as Laporta wants to win, for if Laporta loses... so does Yuste.

That is hardly independence.
And again, heavily limiting Laporta's power during that period is practically the same as stepping down for the time being.
I agree, so if it's the same, why not just let him stay in charge and introduce checks and balances to ensure fair elections. Rhetorical question so we don't go on all night on this.
I told you. Each financial year has tons of financial and contractual bindings and responsibilities, that a new board obviously doesn't want to take over as their own.
Committing to new contractual bindings and obligations would be limited under Yuste too, I assume, rendering Laporta's temporary resignation useless.

Reports say that after hearing Fort's comments, Flick was very worried when he looked into the mirror this morning to brush his teeth that his face would turn into Xavi's. He's extremely worried about a couple of threads of very dark hair that he spotted in his beard.

Laporta will have helmed 3 LL in last 4 years in a financial abyss time period for the club.

Against a RM with hundreds of millions in spend during the same time period. And European rivals who spend just as much if not even more.

European success (unlikely with this clown defense) on top of this would be unfathomable.

Just a great President. He's no saint or truth sayer, but he'll get it done.

Guy pulled levers that threw the club further into the financial 'abyss' as a smokescreen of short-term success that will deceive the fans to re-elect him

5 years after his first promise that the team will be 'soon' into 1:1, and many lies in between that 'we NOW are at 1:1', the clubs is still not there

Yet there are clowns in here who play this pathetic line of the 'good guy' who had to fight the 'financial abyss'

Are you that silly and naive in your everyday life as well, or does it happen to you only when it comes to Barca?

President of FC Barcelona
Victor Font isn't even the real challenger.

It's Marc Ciria, who won't win now but will set up for a proper run the next time around.

Don Juan Laporta Estruch

Basta yaaaaaaa, Cabron ! y Bona nit 🥂
If there's one thing this election process has shown me it's that we are not indebted to Laporta enough.

If anyone thinks, looking at the other candidates, that we are anything but fucked, when Laporta leaves, they are dreaming. And nobody new is going to turn up to save the day.

This club has 125 years of history and no president came even minisculely close to achieving the success Laporta has.

Those that hate Barca say it was a small club before Messi, but there is another factor they forgot .... The greatest club president in football history. :laporta2:
