Joan Laporta

Truth
Well, he can only play the cards he has in his hands. If LaLiga forbids Barca to register players, he needs to distract the question with successful things like La-Masia and women's team. What else he can say, without sounding hopeless.
Great leader, truly

Only good things ahead and this would've never happened without him - yes, there are many along the way since his election that have contributed to the miraculous turnaround - Alemany, Jordi, Planas, Xavi and Auba to name just a few

Romeu in particular drafted the strategic roadmap to rise from the ashes, the unsung hero for me - I think his impact has been immeasurable in ensuring club's continuity and growth

Rescued Barça from laughingstock at their depths under Barto to the envy of the world, and has done it in style in not just preserving a member owned club but seeing it thrive again

The Messi issue and a 1:1/crack signing remain on the to do list but we should be indebted to his leadership as it couldn't have happened without him - making him the goat

"Rescued" :lol:
Sold assets cents on a dollar, took out loans and made future boards pay for his immediate tenure.

Tenure he, willingly, volunteered and took upon himself to make success of.

He's inept when it comes to business and fosters nepotism within the club. Pathological liar and a glutton to top it off.

He's made great call with Flick though. That move saved him from being ousted as entire stadium was chanting "Laporta no" 18 months ago.

To conclude he hasn't made anything great regarding Barca as institution. Riding on other people's work with youngsters that came through and key players that previous board brought in.

Sounds like he is being charged for defrauding investors in some scheme he was running along with his buddies a few years ago.

I won't say "rescued", but Laporta is balancing this sinking ship well. I have to give him the credit.

Some percentages of assetts were sold, but the club didn't lose its identity and Camp Nou is 18 months away from full completion.

In conclusion I trust Laporta, because he doesn't bend and defends FC Barcelona's interests to the end. Remember exactly 365 days ago we were here discussing "is Olmo becoming free agent?".
