Flick clearly does not rate ter stegen so it's completely reasonable to assume he is the one who demanded a new GK

Deco was reportedly already looking at GKs before Flick. But ofc, keep giving credit to Bumsi for everything good and blame Deco for everything wrong at the club.

And we'll have to see if he'll actually be good. I have serious doubts he'll last more than 2-3 seasons especially starting his career behind no defense with Flick's suicidal system. Anyway, good luck, he'll need it.

E: First part of my post wasn't meant directly for you but to most people here who are doing that. They know who they are.
Will never understand your Flick hate, too funny. He's not perfect, but what he did with our squad and no budget was brilliant. You add 3 titles to that and it just makes it even funnier. Still not Jamrock levels of delusion though.

Ter Stegen is German as well. It makes more sense that he would want to KEEP him as number 1, if he was reasonably capable, not replace him. He doesn't have any kind of real budget either, so pushing to still replace him is that much more obvious.

No need to rush the deal. It's already done.

I heard the only hiccup up is that Laporta wants Joan Garcia agent to pay the buyout clause upfront and we will give him an IOU slip to be paid when Palestine gets statehood.

Other than that, everything is fine and on schedule.

That's the lazy assumption that fans often make. Both being German doesn't mean shit, why should he like him just because he was born near him?

It's probably the opposite, Flick knew very well what kind of bum MATS is because he knows him well. He had him at NT when Neuer was already kinda old and didn't give MATS a chance and don't forget Flick's team put 8 goals in the net of him.

I mean, this further supports my point. A German would like to keep a good German on, if possible. This isn't a lazy assumption, it's just something typically anyone would relate to.

Despite this, however, Flick is still requesting he be replaced, identifying him as a weakness. And even with a limited budget, it's what he's choosing to use it on. Another win for the German. Let's just hope Garcia adapts well and continues his good form.

6 would have been better for ffp
And 6 it is! This should lower his amortization and give the club a bit more room to sign other players. Good work from Deco. I admit I had my doubts when Alemany left, if Deco can do this job on his own and don't turn into Abidal 2.0. But his work lately is superb. The physical team he brought last season to the club is of the highest level, Flick we don't need to explain. Also the negotiations go smoothly for the most part, his connections to all kinds of clubs and agents help him here as a former successful agent. Of course he had his Roque signing, but the question was also how much Xavi was behind it as Deco hinted.

Joan Garcia will sign a 6-year contract. The pre-agreement was for 5, but he will ultimately be linked to Barça until 2031. It was agreed last week. —
