How to approach the rebuild

We?re just not ruthless enough.

We?ve made out Stegen is going to be our starting GK for the next 10+ years. No consequences for playing shit, his spot is more or less untouchable. Same goes for loads of players.

Imo he?s done worse than Kepa did for Chelsea with constant mistakes leading to goals, weak mentality etc. Kepa has been dropped in big games now for Mendy. Lampard/Chelsea way more ruthless than clowns at our club.

Right, and the players know it. They know that if they become starters, they will not be benched no matter how much and how often they fuck up. You can go years and years of playing mediocre football and you will still start based on name and status only.

MAtS also went crying to media when Bravo was Liga keeper and said he wasn't satisfied with this situation at Barca which made Barca sell Bravo.

Players like MAtS are the reason why Barca are in the shithole we are in right now. So many players have been given guaranteed playing time, huge salaries, long contracts, no competition and have caved to every single one of these players wants. This in turn breeds arrogance and entitlement which is what we see on the pitch.

This is the player that a large portion of the fans want as their 'future captain'. It's madness!

You know why he would never say something like that for the German National Team? Because he knows he'd be signing his death certificate with that team if he did. But shit like this is rewarded at Barca lmao.

Wow. Spot on that. They wouldn’t take that shit, probably lose his benchwarming place.

You are right on mentality and complacency,
but maybe you have gone a bit too far in deeming MATS not good enough?

After some mistakes? What the hell?
Who are the world-class keepers that we can replace him with?
Which keepers are better than him in the EPL? I can't think of any besides Alisson

One of the biggest mistakes we have made is allowing the Lockerroom to fester as it did.

We made mistakes in the transfer market no doubt, including some huge ones. But the amount of power the Lockerroom has had on things led to the term "Club De Amigos" People to this day still deny it but no doubt it and it was and still is a thing. Players that felt entitled to their starting spots even if they didn't perform to expectations.

Pique during the Valverde era was like this. Guy jetted off to do his "Business Stuff" without getting permission and walked all over the likes of Valverde for that shit and even admitted only getting a few hours sleep each night. And you had the likes of Alba saying the fans were too spoiled after the Liverpool debacle. And it turned out the guy was crying at HT even though we were still in a position to advance.

Suarez didn't bother to take care of himself either other than his finishing, it clearly showed.

We still have the basics to play with thankfully .

Steg , FDJ , Coutinho , Pedri , Puig , Fati , Ale?? , Dest and Trinc?o all have a big future here I think .

Exactly, especially the bolded part.

Together with transfers, this is the biggest fuck-up of the board, and the main players in the teams are their accomplices. They won the treble in 2015 and they basically ensured themselves fat long contracts and immunity for everything. Even 5 years later some of them still live off that treble.

Ya all are forgetting that NO ONE will ever pay the wages Barca players earn. And they WON'T let that slip their greedy fingers. Likes of Umtiti and Dembouz & Co will rather sit for 4 years and spill shit in media about "prooving themselves"... That is all bullocks... And other clubs know that.

They are all waiting that these greeds heal their wounds and suck dry their fat paychecks.

Then they will get them for free and for lower wages.

That IS THE ROOT OF THE PROBLEM.
Lazy uncompetent overpaid fucks that don't want to go anywhere for less.

Untill their contracts expire they won't go anywhere.

They are unmotivated overpaid "selfproclaimed" superstars.

63 goals conceded in 63 games in the CL league

Tells you all you need to know.

Ter-Stegen's shot stopping in the CL over the last 6 years as Barca keeper is 2/10 or 3/10 at best.

Most mid table level keepers would have better stats if they were put into Barca over the last 6 years.

Hot garbage keeper.

Will we be able to sign anyone this winter considering the upcoming elections?

Tusquets said there would be no signing in January unless we sell players. And given the new president will not have much time left after being elected into office, the chances of signing anybody this coming winter are pretty much nil, which is totally fine I think. We don't have money and we shouldn't rush to sign anybody like Depay that we will regret later just to salvage this season. Plus we don't know if Messi will be leaving or not, also the fate of Koeman and who our next manager will be etc. Give the new president and his team enough time to plan for next summer.

Good question. Maybe. Election should be 24th of January, so maybe there is time if they scout players before?
The window (if I got it right) closes 1st of February. Don't know how long it could take to verify the results, hope they don't follow american example.

If Tusquests' hands are tied, pretty condifent we won't be making any signins this winter.

Sure, didn't think about some major signings either. But some objectives must be met (CL spot, for instance) and we could use a few reinforcements. Not particulary fond of Garica, but we're, for instance, in a dire need of a CB.
