I don't see much reason to panic. We are one of the top teams around, but still have room to go. The fact is PSG has deeper squad with much bigger investments. Just an example, Gonzalo Ramos who came in late in the game and had a very good substitute performance was signed for 65m.
We lacked the actual leader of the team in Raphinha, and it was evident without him we just aren't as mean and intense as we should be. He's the de facto captain of the team no matter who wears the armband and regardless of club policies. I know PSG probably missed more starters than us, but they have more resources to replace them. Also, while they missed players in attack, the main stars in their defense + midfield were there and made a difference.
Flick has to get some things in order, and it's good this warning came early.
Sort out the primadonna attitude of Yamal. This shite stinks bad. Kid has to be well managed, or else I'm not opposed to a big sale in the future. Wouldn be well advised even. He has to understand he needs to work hard for the team. He will never be at the level of Messi to have the team work for him. The sooner he understands that, the less likely it's gonna be for him to develop into some Neymar-lite.
Maybe we should try disposing of an AM like Olmo for an extra defensive player in midfield when we face better teams than us. Develop some B plan. We don't have a stellar team like in the past to force top sides like PSG into playing our game. We have to adapt to them instead. It is necessary should we face them again in the knockouts.
There are some things that can be done on Flick's side to alleviate some issues, but in the end, we'll start as underdogs vs PSG at the moment. But it will be closer if we do things better. Imo last night's match was not as close as it should have been, for various reasons. If PSG had their star players in attack, it could have been much worse because we really played a shitty game.
