Araujo and Kounde were targetted by Chelsea in playing ball out from back.

They did exactly what PSG did and showed ball to full backs and closed in all game.

Worst coach on the planet. Exactly what I predicted from day one. Any decent team will tear us apart. Flicks glorious offside trap failed again by few centimeters twice. Yeah, it works so well, lets keep it up. Lets hope for luck in the next Matches and for the decisive millimeters to be in our favor. Man, this is all madness.

This is not a match lost by Flick lol.

Sure, maybe you lose in a closer match if you play differently, but that is not the point.

We already know we will have to suffer lots of humiliating defeats this season under this manager.

Saved by centimetres yet again
It would have been 5-0

Two things can be true.

1. He has gotten exposed multiple times vs. teams that man mark us and press high up and he has done absolutely nothing to counter that.

2. The entire backline is garbage. Be a serious person and tell me which one of Cubarsi, Araujo, Kounde and Balde would start for what is supposed to be our top competition for the CL title?
Yes, two things are true

1) System is not perfect and there are many flaws, especially with defense

2) Defensive personnel is not up to the level we want to be at

And this loss was caused by this 2nd truth. It really is that simple. I'm not saying our system is perfect but today that was not the problem. Three inexcusable mistakes that cost us the game in first half

We are maybe evenly matched with likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, City, Bayern, PSG if full squad in top form, maybe under vs some on that list even at our peak. Any other scenario that doesn't fall in this ideal setup, we suffer, sometimes badly. That is known, assumed, and we roll with it.

Inter won it last year by barely qualifying. This defeat caused by Araujo brain-fart means nothing long term.

We are not playing a segunda team. This is a top european side. There are instances when they will get behind our defense. Players need to know to handle it. Not smash the ball into their own net
And as a top coach, Flick himself should know how to coach team midblock and pressing.

It's not entirely true though is it?

We were getting outplayed in the first half because Flick once again did not adapt to his tactics whatsoever. There's a few teams who have copied and pasted the exact same formula vs. us and Chelsea were doing the same. Obviously the garbage personnel doesn't help either, but perhaps he could have told the wingers to come inside, Lewandowski to drop down deep to make the middle of the pitch packed, or something else but he did nada.

Definition of madness is what again?

1-2 of those in the backline could be ok if the other 2 they get partnered with would be solid. Or if we had a proper DM. There is no defensively consistent player in midfield or defense in the entire squad. The main defender fans put hopes in, supposed leader, turned out to be a nuclear bum.

We need too many new players. Miracles rarely happen. Those 4-5 players to improve us a lot translate to 200m at a minimum. Probably more to be fair.

You get what you pay for I guess. A RB that was signed as CB. Two La Masia kids we're hoping becomes top players, but are struggling to show it so far and the nuclear bum as you said.

Again, 100% on Flick this one. Maybe we should look for somebody else next summer because he keeps fucking up.

Not for nothing, every player in defense was better last season. What happened needs to be studied.

Is it an individual failing or systemic.

Maybe both? Because they are all well off last season form.

We were getting outplayed after the own goal. I don't know what game you guys were watching. Do you remember the chat in first 20 minutes? Everybody was saying we play well. Should have been 1-0 up, and Fermin also had some good opportunities in final third

After the own goal, team completely lost focus and maybe they would stabilize if another shock didn't arrive thanks to our captain
