Hansi Flick - how do we rate him?

I was hesitant at playing a fit In form (big if) back at 10.

But if he comes back to his proper self while flick is here, and given how olmo has been looking & that fermin lacks control.

I think our best Midfield for balance is.

De Jong Pedri
Gavi

I would of course get rid of de jong in a perfect world but that's not happening.

Don't think flick sees this though he said last season in a interview he sees gavi as a 6 or 8.

But that's what I would play.

There is no Rodri in the market. The best that was there was Zubi who wouldn't have improved our starting line up that much. There are bigger chance to improve the AM area while hoping that Bernal could develop into that tank CDM. He has the length for it, and could evolve physically for it.

But in anyway, midfield is the last area to reinforce, it could use help but defense and attack are more pressing needs. Unlikely we have the funds for either to even think about midfield.

Yea we have to accept our reality, we would be even more cooked now if we didn't sign rashford or another LF this summer, absolutely vital signing though it is just a loan.

Not sure how the club will play it in the summer given his wages, but for this season he's filling the void nicely

I disagree midfield is last area to reinforce. It's 2nd after defence with the money we have.

The more I see Olmo and Fermin the less convinced I am these are the right profile to pair with Frenkie and Pedri.

How much did PSG pay for Fabian Ruiz from Napoli btw, curious. Over 40?

Of current players I prefer a fit and in form Olmo at AM without a doubt.

He has a better football brain than Fermin and knowing when to play it simple or direct.

But when off form his head goes and constantly turns into trouble.

Fermin is like a second striker. One track mind. Has its strengeths and weaknesses that approach.

Yamal would be best AM if played there but then wouldnt have any 1v1 players out wide either.

We need to hope we get some good offers for Casado and Fermin to move them. Fermin is a good player but for him to work here we'd need 2 more physical players behind him. Like Chelsea have with Enzo and Caicedo.

I'd move Olmo too but I think he will be a hard sell now.

The Midfield definitely needs something I agree, but that something is most likely be a in fit in form gavi

Ruiz is one I said we could sign for around 40m a few years back, none saw the vision, it's too late now

De Paul is another one we could have gotten for cheap that would add something extra but it's too late one.

De Paul never even close to being what Barca need and Ruiz is not better than Pedri.

De Paul became a name after Argentina won World Cup.. where he wasnt great and wasnt at Atletico either.

Just about every midfielder has been named.. from Kessie to Tielemans as being better than Barca have.

Absolute nonsense.

Gavi is a non factor. He'll need 2 years to be like before injury and only then we could see if he can be something.

I'm talking about offloading some players to get funds to make moves quicker than waiting for Gavi.

I think Gavi is good for a sub, love the energy he brings into the pitch but as a starter? dont feel that, too inconsistent

i hope olmo finds his form back, he would be a massive help but so far he has been terrible

Gavi before injury was nothing great either.. thats the reality.

He was miles behind Pedri and Frenkie.

He was something initially. Surely Lucho saw something in him to select him as quickly. Showed real promise early on.

Under Koeman/early Xavi he was good and then got caught up in hard man act too much.

He was awful under Lucho at the World Cup bar when Costa Rica played 442 v Spain bizzarely.

He has not played football in 2 years that's why I said big If.

But IF he finds form & fitness, the rest goes without saying rather easily.

Just take a screenshot of this & come back to it.

Then we have ebrima who might be close to yamal level talent but that's a conversation for Another day

Gavi would need to improve a lot on the level he was last season and pre injury.

Usual rules.. IF he finds form I am right... if he doesnt I will blame injury.
