Marcus Sorg on the 1–2 defeat:
“Real made better use of our mistakes than we did of theirs. In the final third, we ultimately lacked the cutting edge to create more chances. We tried everything — in the end, we even played with only two defenders. We wanted to create more opportunities, but we also knew that Real are always very good on the counter. We didn’t create enough to score a second goal.”
… on the rather weak performance of Lamine Yamal this time:
“It wasn’t easy for Lamine. We talked at halftime about needing to put things into action, but we didn’t manage to create many situations like that in the second half either. Real defended well — we have to accept that. We tried everything, but sometimes the defenders just do a good job. We have to accept that. Lamine is coming back from an injury break; he needs more games. That’s normal — he’s only 18. We’ll give him time and support him.”
… on the scuffle at the end:
“To be honest, I didn’t really realize what was going on. There were a lot of people between the benches shouting. We have to stay focused on the game.”
