Hansi Flick - how do we rate him?

Flick can do better, but it's not like he's operating in ideal circumstances. Team played really well last season. Then a lot of other teams made investments including Real Madrid. Now investments don't always equal to better performances(see Liverpool so far), but the squad depth RM have is light years ahead of ours.

We lost our best CB who was good, but not spectacular. We signed a GK who was upgrade, but didn't play tonight and, Rashford on loan and Roony.

And everyone knew that we needed a LB/RB, #9 and arguably a CB as well. Almost everyone in this forum agreed on that, but finances wouldn't allow it. I believe I said it a week ago. There's only so much you can extract from your academy and what you already have in the squad. At some point you need to make some big investments at key positions when you need it, and we needed it and couldn't do it.

Although the season is long. We were in a worse situation last winter. We'll see what happens.
Yep and last winter people spoke of all kind of shit. Ran out of gas, tactics figured out, Flick exposed... we changed literally nothing in our game, the mentality improved and boom we were firing again. A big part of this right now is a mental slump. They got dominated by PSG and maybe it was a rough reality check. Yamal probably has milion things going on in his head, Rashford still adapting, Kounde looks like something's completely off with him mentally fuck knows what and so on

Managerial role hasn't changed. You constantly have to overachieve when looking at state of the squad. Sometimes you can and achieve important things... sometimes you can't.

It is important to not let a not so good season drain you because then you are cooked.

No one can overachieve all the time. That's the reason literally all the top managers in the World have ended up at clubs that can spend 100m+ every summer.

Pep's changed his defence half a dozen times for the tune of 600m or something. Lucho has spent like 400m in his short time at PSG. Slot just went and spent like 300m although seem to have backfired so far lol.

Real Madrid been spending money too.

True. But it is important to bounce back. You can't overachieve all the time, but you will have to do it frequently here at Barcelona at this moment in time. Very stressful job in the post Bartomeu aftermath.

Season is long. We'll see what happens. I remember we were thinking the league was finished in December last year.

Those losses were a bit different. These ones are much more deserved. Hell, Rayo should have been a loss also. Needed keeper heroics to snatch 1 point.

True, but we've had a lot of injuries and no stability.

I know one thing though. The club better fake some injuries for Lamine, Pedri, Frenkie, etc. for the next international break in a couple of weeks or so.

No fucking way we should allow these guys to go on national duty again now.

Only Atletico and maybe Leganes weren't deserved, others in that streak of games we were absolutely terrible

And also it's about the schedule. Imagine we had Madrid or PSG in December last season, we would be cooked

But, sure, we go now on some 11-12 games winning streak we could be back on 1st by February. Issue is the team doesn't seem capable of this feat.

I am so upset loosing tonight. It’s annoying seeing the same fucking style of play with a lot of lateral passes. We should have tried to play more directly on goal. So bad that Kounde was not able to make a good chest stop when engaged by Pedri. He could have scored for 2-2. Very poor game from Kounde, Torres, Eric…so disappointed!
