Dont really understand why Kounde hasnt been tried at CB.

He is an average at best RB who is not great 1v1 or on ball when pressed and teams are targetting both.

Seems to have tried just about everything else.

Any of the two would improve things but Flick is stubborn and won't adjust, and the economic situation means you can't throw 150m at the defensive problems and make them disappear.

Flick does make defensive problems worse. As a manager he is a defender's nightmare and all attackers love him. He is like that, you can't make him more balanced.

The second sentence is what I've been saying and have come to accept, that's just his nature, he's had 3 jobs and they all have a few things in common

High octane attacking football and leaky defense's.

Just accept it and stop whining about CBs who would make a difference, they won't.

If anyone doesn't believe that, ask themselves why does he start Garcia over Christensen, because Garcia slightly better on the offensive side of the ball, & that's what he cares about more, the ability to out score not stop goals from going in, that's the keepers job in his system.

Just be more aware when we are head in big games and we'll be fine.

On the other hand, only an unbalanced manager who is a bit crazy and obssessed aboust attacking football would have been able to get so many goals from this squad as Flick did last season.

There is a difference in defence exposed to the tactics and basic errors and although they are exposed there are also a lot of individual errors within that.

See Araujo v Dortmund and Inter.

That was not on the tactics that is basic defending 101 and what Araujo despite his obvious weaknesses should be stronger at.

I agree with some of your claims, but not all. Better players always make a difference. Always. They take in more risk than lesser players and impact the game individually.

Of course CBs make a difference or folk wouldnt even be debating who starts of the players have.

The defence is being left exposed though at times too often.

Poor giveaways far too often on front of them.

Better players make a difference sure, in the right setup, we've seen good players look poor in one system & great in another.

Flick system leaves defenders exposed like no other I've ever seen.

We talk about the araujo error, won't go back into that, but my post then with the edited screen shot back then, shows how if we were simply positioned better as a team, then he wouldn't have be placed in that position, he fucked up yes, but if the tactics were better he wouldn't have gotten the opportunity to fuck up.

Better players make a difference I agree, which is why I said we needed a keeper as the main target to improve this team, but with flick we've seen him with better defenders the result was basically the same around 3 teams now

The Araujo errors are basic defending...any of them

No matter how it got to that point.

It doesn't matter that your booming forward with a 1 goal lead & 3 minutes left in a game, with your entire defense above the half way line and poorly positioned.

Yea okay

That's something all other managers do in that situation.

Barca were not left out numbered at back and folk go ballastic all the time when teams sit back after go ahead.

Yes very few top teams would be sitting back there when no need to due to lack of numbers up top from Inter.

It was basic defending and if anything sitting deep invites more of them.

There were numbers back when Araujo fucked up for the 4th for example and numbers back in both his fuck ups v Dortmund.
