Henry isn't the brightest and merely parotting EPL pundit catch phrases. Great athlete but no brains. Does he think Flick invented the high line last season at Barca? Pictures of Manuel Neuer standing 20 meters outside his box was a meme at some point and as far as I recall they were pretty successful.

Funnily enough, Pep's Barca also played a super high line. People already forgot? Making the pitch small and fitting every player in the opponent's half was a trademark.

Pause at 30:16 for example. Puyol is touching the center circle.

Our players right now are just not at that level. Outside of Yamal, Pedri, De Jong, Rafinha (with last season's form) and possibly now the new GK, the rest is completely exchangeable and even Pedri and Yamal are way too young to cary entire Barca hopes on their own.

I doubt anyone does better with these players and finances right now. Maybe Klopp if given enough time but he wouldn't control possession against this PSG either.

Pep in no way played a high line like flick, as the video you posted actually shows.

Henry tends to push back on what the English say on the CBS show and is generally very friendly to Barca.

It's near impossible to upgrade on Flick. Pep doesn't want to come back and said it repeatedly, Lucho is involved at PSG for years more, Klopp unlikely as well, we need to stay on board with Flick and hope he improves together with the players. He is a very young manager. He has what experience in club football, 4 seasons? Lol.

We are asking of him to be among the elite, most of the others we could get don't even reach this possibility in the first place.

He needs to learn and benefit from Barcelona philosophy also. It could elevate him as manager and help him reach a superior level. Study managers like Pep, Luis Enrique, and take elements from them while integrating some of those elements into his own coaching style.

The two oil teams City and PSG trusted ex-Barca legends and managers to use their billions for a reason.

That said, top tier managers don't grow on trees. They are in very scarce supply, and upgrading on Flick is simply not possible atm.

Don’t forget biggest reason being none of those coaches would want to helm a project where they can’t spend crazy.

Don't think that's true. For Pep there are other reasons, and Lucho would come back if given the choice.

What is true is that money is a huge advantage and the oil-state clubs always have an edge.

For this, Flick's most underrated trait is how positive he is. So far, been pretty stoic in front of all the hurdles. People should respect that even if we have a bad season.

Why would he resign or get sacked? Even if we win nothing this year he's build up enough credit to get one more season.

But it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see their is a clear flaw in his system, he had the perfect characteristics of defenders at Bayern and still conceded the same amount of goals as he's doing now with our "poor" defenders.

32 & 44 in 4 less league games, I honestly think if it wasn't a covid year, with return legs he probably would have lost in the CL at some point with that bayern team, too high risk at times when he doesn't need to be.

Also he doesn't need 8+ WC players to win the CL, lucho did it with 5 max.

Donna.
Hakimi
Mendes
Vitinha
Dembele.

So if it's only 4 that we have, we're fine.

He'll be here for another 1-2 years and we are all the better for it, doesn't mean he doesn't have flaws of he's some kind of miracle working turn scrubs into league champions, another manager did it 12 months before him and another one will do it after he eventually leaves.

Because we have the big man in charge and that's the most important thing to Barcelona's success, leadership at the top.

Pep ain't even coming back, but lucho would take this job if offer under the exact same circumstances as flick.

As would many others, they see we have a top 5 squad in Europe easily, biggest issue is lewa who will undoubtedly be replaced.

Indees, no amount of coaching is gonna help players like Martin be like Mendes. Martin, he tries a lot, but let's face it, managers would love far more to face him than coach him.
