Aye its 'shitting on Gavi' to compare him with Wirtz.

Mccyy just trying to find another excuse to over rate just about any Gavi performance.

A lot of guys here are underrating Wirtz, guy knows how to dribble to create space and has also the eye to create chances, he will probably play for Bayern in 2 years

Gavi is terrible offensively, but that doesnt mean he is good defensively. Gavi is hyped because he is young la masia product. There is not a single stat that shows enormous talent. He is not master in anything, just running around and making fouls. Comparing him to talanted players like Wirtz is nonsense. He is Arturo Vidal without the goals.

He isnt 'terrible' on ball but has a lot to work on.

This season he is he has 10th on team for passes per game, 10th for pass % and showing little range and ball progression.

His stats on progressing the ball are awful so far and when play deeper there is much more chance to do that. Far too much bacwards passing and not being aware of how to progress ball and open game up enough. Rarely takes a pause to survey best options and tries to do everything at 100mph. His passing is similar level to Arthur this season really maybe not quite as good.

Defensively he is better but still massively overplayed.. while he has the most tackles in team he is making far more fouls than anyone else and most dribbled past player.. not even sure there is a stat for defensive errors he makes chasing ball v Real on their goals and the gaps he leaves chasing ball like a lunatic time and again.

Needs to improve a lot on and off the ball to get to being a top player but he has a chance.. not close at moment.

When he showed his first season & this season, that's not his game, that's not why anyone who knows anything about football rates gavi so highly.

Xavi forced Gavi into the team because Busquets was always going to DM and Pedri and De Jong are infinitely better. He's been playing his position this season mostly and he hasn't been much better. Just a lot more running around, leaving gaps behind him and touching the ball 15 times a game.

I think Gavi can be a talented player, but he's woefully overrated. But if he's been way better this season to some people, then the bar must of been real low last season.

People said the same about Havertz like they are now saying about Wirtz. Don't trust anybody from a league where defending is nonexistent.
