Just loaned this guy for 9 who scored for Atletic.

Is the deal for the Egyptian striker now dead? @khaled_a_d

They aren't related, but timing isn't in favour of Hamza now.

It is all up to his agent now, sign extension with Ahly and join us, or deal will be stalled. Ahly is calm and actually was playing him on Thursday in the league cup.

Delgado is the top scorer of 3rd division and 24, he is a signing to help in getting promotion

Lots of change this mercato.

Dani, Dro, Mbacke, Cuenca & Quim all going out.
Delgado, Hamza & Ajay Tavares are joining the team (I suspect Ajay might go to Juvenil team).

Izan González is rumoured to be a midfield reinforcement. As a veteran presence.

Some chatter we will bring two CB signings, with Gerónimo Spina likely being one.

Girona is close to hijak the deal.
Has dug a little on twitter about him. Many of local fans of 3rd division clubs says he is the best midfielder in that division, and that a move isn't just a "vet" presence but also about him being potential La liga level player.

Got to be honest. I'm a bit of a Europa fan coz, well, they are a bit of a hipster club. There's a guy on the forum iirc that actually goes to alot of their games, so he will know more about them than me.

Anyways, I've seen about 6 of their games this season and this lad is a great little player.

I thought he was about 26 with the long hair and pony tail, and overlooked him as a potential player (see, not a proper fan as didn't know his age), but now knowing he is 21, I can see why the LaLiga clubs are looking at him.

He would obviously have more chances to make the Girona first team while with us it would be more of a B and see what happens move.

Of course if he is a Barca fan, you can't turn down a move here as he will develop well and potentially still have Girona or Espanyol down the line if it didn't work out anyways.

Ended up going on loan to Granada in LaLiga2. Played the full 90 in their last two games and notched up a goal and a assist.

Good start.

Thanks for that. Just checked him out. Top scorer in the league so far with 12 goals.
Cheers. There seems to be some sentiment that he is a potential attacking gem, we'll see but another move from Deco & Laporta with potential - you always wonder whether this is a product of local scouting that identifies these players or is it Bojan or Deco's new hire Paulo Araujo who was appointed head of scouting

I only bookmark this to keep an eye on the moves that fall under their tenure to assess their added value ultimately. The sporting sector is just as vital as the squad, coach, finances & leadership of Laporta for long-term competitiveness to reinforce the club's foundation of La Masia

And in the modern game, this sector is as vital as the marketing & commercial aspects to maximize revenue and keep it a member owned club. I think historically and it has been a sector that has been up & down over time and often lazy (relying on local rich talent pool of Catalunya which is among the highest density of footballing talent throughout Spain). Everyone fishes in this pond and perhaps the club didn't prioritize becoming elite in this talent rich pool but a club of Barça's stature has to be elite here too

I think it is policy to try and scoop up the best in the category regionally, particularly outside of Girona/Espanyol at the 17-19 level. Those who developed slower and thus are at the likes of Cornella/Damm but excel later in years.

The winter signings like Ajay Tavares, Onstein definitely look to be Araujo's influence though.

We done the same with Jan Virgili who was also top scorer that season for Tarregona.

Regarding Damm CF in particular, they are owned by the foundation of Damm, the Catalan brewer who are also one of our regional partners. So I wonder if there is some sort of youth affiliation in place.

Yeah they are traditionally one of the top grassroots academies in the province along with a few others, for players who fall out of the Espanyol/Barcelona (and now Girona) threshold.

And in Barcelona's catchment area it is within our interest obviously to grab anyone who excels.

In my province the LaLiga2 side agreements with 11 different grassroots clubs to monitor and have first option on their talents, with the majority of the rest having agreements with the LaLiga side. Business as usual.

I am sure in the UK it is no different.
