Don't want to hate on him, but I saw him in 2-3 games for the NT before the WC where he was absolute sh*t - but I just thought it was friendlies and everything would turn out OK. I don't blame only Costa for his poor performance, but he looked so clumsy and out of place.

IMO, Costa doesn't fit into Spain possession style. He is more suited to a more direct/counter-attacking system. This bad tournament don't make him terrible. He is still a damn good striker even though I 'm happy his WC dream is over.

The real scapegoat should be Del Bosque and how he continues to play Xabi Alonso and never gave any minutes to David Villa.
