Edwards wants him to grow under VVD's guidance and take over. We also have Konate who's world class.

VVD Konate Huijsen are the best CB options in the world in any club.

This is what I want for him.
But us are not future thinking.
If we want to fight for CL, getting a kid won't help our chances that much.
The kid won't be the one winning us CL.
But he sure will be helpful along the way. While learning and developing a partnership with Cuba, Inigo and maybe Tah.
Look at how clubs like Pool and all are thinking. This is the way if we want to create a generational team.

Not the player we need at all.

Fans don't want to here with right now, but CB are the least of our worries
If we go into next season with

Cubarsi
Martinez
Araujo
Christensen
Garcia

We can win everything in the world, the issue isn't the personnel it's the structure.

He would have been exposed last night.

The same personal underperformed in high stake games in the last 2 years under a system designed favourably for them.

It is absolutely the personal.

Yeah, I like Huijsen but prime Maldini and Beckenbauer would be exposed in this stupid system.

Our CB are the new Ter Stegen, they underperformed consistently in CL regardless the coach and the system

Last season we won away to PSG ( the best team we faced) and lost at home playing with 10 men.

Over that 180 minutes, played about half with 10 men, we conceded less goals (6) than we did against inter with 11 men on the field.

Yea it's definitely the structure that failed the team.

Lol

Yeah, you got 100m every summer outside of sales, then get Huijsen while actively offloading Araujo, Christensen or whatever.

But when you don't have that luxury and may realistically only have a 50m budget for one player, then that one player has to benefit the first 11.

When the best CB in your team is Inigo Martinez who is old and has zero CL experience basically... how is that not a problem? CB area is one of the weaker positions in the team in terms of quality, not bodies.

CB area is the opposite of the offensive area. We have bodies, but low actual quality. Up front we have low bodies, but high quality.

An experienced CB is ultra-needed.

We concedes 5 goals in 180 minutes last year, we coneded 6 against a superior Inter this year.

In all 4 games, our Centerbacks played their worst games of the season in it.

And it wasn't just the games we went out, there are many others they underperformed in both seasons.

Never mind the dusaster 2022/2023 was, when we were supposedly defensive monsters.

So no, regardless of system they aren't the one that steps up in Europe, but drag you down

Edit: sorry 6 goals in both ties

Yes you left out one important bit, with 10 men.

All defenders on the pitch and you can't see out a game with 5 minutes left and you try the blame the defenders?.

I'm sorry but miss me with that bullshit.
