The importance of having huge funds can't be understated. Yes, probably Enzo doesn't worth 120m. But he is worth 70-80m when factoring in his age, his mentality and physicality. So you pay extra 40m and get it done. Caicedo the same, Cucurella the same.

This is just like moaning about rich people buying great goods at super-high prices. Yes, the price is absurdly high. But even if the quality doesn't match the price, it is way over the standard of quality you hope to get at low prices.

If you can afford the price, the quality will make the difference. And if the price is not a huge problem, then this combination will create, in the end, a good enough outcome. Nobody cares about price except those that can't really afford something. It's like the old saying, you know you're rich enough when you can walk into any restaurant you please, no matter how luxurious, without giving a second's thought for the bill.

That's the equation of the rich teams, and it works. A good manager, big funds, sure it will not lead to some era defining output without an elite academy, if you're a smaller local club like Chelsea, but it will produce football-wise in the long run.

Tbh in the modern day market huge transfer fees are more and more common, eventually 100m will be what 50m was 5 years ago.

You see it regularly now, Liverpool signing Isak for 120m GBP, Wirtz for 110m etc.

The market has grossly inflated and now you have to pay that money if you want the most demanded talents.

Barca spend hundreds of millions on attacking players and not one of them a pacey 1v1 player.. they had one.. pissed him off and he leaves to get a balondor.

Barca need a RB.. sign a clumsy stiff CB to play there for more than Spurs pay for Porro, Arsenal pay for Timber and many more.

They fail to ever adress DM.. while losing likes of Nico for less than paid old Gundo in wages.

Can man about EPL money but those teams know what to spend it on for most part ahead of Barca.

Barca have no plan for what is needed and lucky with players already there for most part even if lost likes of Dembele and Nico... lost Mingueza for free who is average.. but Spain intl for free?

We were in fact kittens, but Frenkie needed at least another ball-player beside him - he didn't get any help from Yamal, Torres, Garcia or Fermin (or Kounde). Chelsea did their homework, they isolated and pressed the shit out of Frenkie and Yamal - only 2 players that could break through their press, but not completely on their own. We don't have a budget like the EPL teams or PSG, we won't be able to have spare players like that on stand-by - we have Frenkie + Pedri and we need to evolve Bernal and pray Gavi will be able to play again for us. Also, with Ara on CB we had another stupid player who can't see the what's going on and Balde/Kounde were of little help. Just give us another "intelligent" fullback, a CF that drops deep to help us in the build up against teams like Chelsea/PSG/Bayern and pray to god Pedri, Frenkie, Gavi and Bernal can play some ball and are not injured.

Of course it's who you buy, We bought Kounde while FFP and our economy didn't restrain us that much, than we had to play him RB because we didn't have anybody else when shit hit the fan.
DM? Well, we don't play with a "pure" DM in Flicks 4-2-3-1 anyway - if he goes back to 4-3-3 than we can examine that option.
A plan has been difficult to put forward, we've been struggling last 2-3 years to register players. I really hope next season we can break free from the restraints we're been under. Next season will be better

Nothing? Been the best scorer of the team in 2 title winning campaigns. Who cares about what any of the EPL teams would do. We play in La Liga and he's been a great use for us.

For EPL maybe he wouldn't be as effective, but that's irrelevant since we play in Spain.

You compare everything to EPL. We play maybe 2-3 games a season with EPL sides. Last year we played zero during the entire season I think.

We won the league twice when de jong missed Multiple games & the team didn't miss him and we won't get much if anything for him if he's sold.

Food for thought for anyone who thought this squad is capable of winning the Champions League.

We have plenty of players capable of winning domestic trophies. We only have 4 or 5 who are capable of winning the Champions League, and not a defender amongst them.

Dembele and Auba for less FFP space be far more beneficial to squad.

Barca literally scored more and had better win % last season when he was out the team.

They won about every game he missed in Xavi season also even games he got sent off and Barca had ten men..

Auba and Dembele together are nowhere near Lewa for Barca.

Dembele would have still been stinking it here and missing half seasons for injury, Auba hasn't managed to stay consistent for over a half year in the 2020's.

We could have done a lot worse than Lewa, he was a solid deal even considering the entire package.

Lewa was a poor signing for all reasons given.

Far too much on books for aged player whos legs have gone and nothing at end of it.

Spare me what he did in league for titles when team didnt suffer without him and actually had better record for wins and scored more while beating Atletico and Real to win a double.
