I never understood when some uses dembele as an example of anything at Barcelona.

I've heard, barto signed a golden ball winner for example.

Like seriously what does that have to do with Barcelona? When did he ever show that level for Barcelona?.

Thats on Barca.

Far better player than Lewa currently and won balondor.

While Barca pay through nose for old man Lewa to score v shite teams and team wins more wihout him.

When every team in world is looking for 1v1 pacey players.. Barca fumble theirs and see him off to PSG.

Raphinha doesnt even have close to the career Dembele has and exploded last season for example...

Just not to Dembele level.

Credit to PSG for knowing what they have.

Food for thought for anyone who thought this squad is capable of winning the Champions League.

We have plenty of players capable of winning domestic trophies. We only have 4 or 5 who are capable of winning the Champions League, and not a defender amongst them.

Until our financial situation does a massive u-turn, the wait for a UCL is going to take a few more years yet, at the earliest.

Is not possible to win the CL in our position. Nowhere near close to it either. We're a bottom top 6 team, and under the current circumstances we have a shot at the elite ones.

Last season is about the easiest path you can hope for in CL until the final and we still fucked it up.

Auba and Dembele together are nowhere near Lewa for Barca.

Dembele would have still been stinking it here and missing half seasons for injury, Auba hasn't managed to stay consistent for over a half year in the 2020's.

We could have done a lot worse than Lewa, he was a solid deal even considering the entire package.
Who's fault is that though?

Dembele showed significant improvement under Xavi and was finally starting to find his feet, ironically this is the point we sold him.

We did all the work in bringing him back, Xavi was getting the best out of him, and then we decided to sell for pennies.

I agree with you that Lewa's signing was not really a catastrophe, he did contribute majorly to 2 LaLiga wins, the issue is the length of the contract, it should have been 2 years at best and then we decide if we want to renew.

People are sure that after Lewandowski, we will sign some new striker for less than what we paid for Lewandowski and he'll score 42 goals in the following season? Just like that?

Replacing Lewandowski is achievable. If Lamine matures into a big scorer, if Olmo stops the shit, gets fit and contributes 14-15 goals a season, if Pedri scores more also. If Ferran doesn't miss as many big chances, and so on, and so forth.

You sign some young player who is not used to to this level and you tell him to go out there and score 40+ goals... it's probably only going to end in one way.

As said Barca literally scored more and won more in games he missed last season.

Next CF doesnt have to score more anyway but be better for team overall but would expect any CF on pens at Barca who is main starter to be hitting 30+ goals easily and do more v better teams in CL.

We didn't decide to sell dembele, that's like saying we decided to sell Neymar

They lost Dembele when fucked up his renewal by speaking shite to him then by trying to bully him out the club.

Dembele and agent then had them over barrel or risk losing him for free once he and agent called their bluff and obvious lies.

As much as didnt agree with Xavi on a lot the board fucked up the Dembele renewal.

We couldn't sign Osimhen for lewa money back in the day, that nonsense was put to bed years ago, some said Napoli would have accept less? When have they ever done that?.

The deal was hard to pull now which is why he's in turkey now, imagine back then when his hype was at its peak.

Well over 100m for him and he's not accepting pennies on the dollar just to play at a big club, as we've seen, he wants the 💰.

No it was never 'put to bed' at all.

Folk just made up numbers and said he would be too expensive.

Moaning about the money Oshimen would want while Lewa gets paid far far more than ever would have took to get him.
