Perfect summary. Thanks. Flicks football is basically like saying go out, run and press like hell for 10 months so that we can score always 1 more goal than the opponent. But if you dont press, Well, it's not my tactics, it's your fault. Come on...disillusional approach. Flicks luck was that people were hungry for attractve football no matter what and jumped on the hype train. Yet this has absolutely nothing to do with serious football. When you have no balance on the pitch you will get punished against good and even also against not so good opponents. Fact! Was a clear penalty. Second yellow was fishy. Penalty was a bit soft but goalkeeper never touched the ball and there was contact.

Yeah but PSG don't have Real and Atletico in their league. I am with you, too, I said that they were poor first half of the season.

I'd like Barca to win the treble but with this system, this coach, and these players, I just cannot see it. Plus Barca haven't won the CL for 10 years, and there seems to be a mental block there. A block that would make me doubt that a much better collection of players than these, and a much better coach, could win it again. Never mind this lot.

I mean I get it's Barca forum, I am not a Barca fan, so I don't wanna rub it in too much. But who are the TRULY brilliant players in this squad? I don't mean rashford or Lopez who get wanked over for the odd good game against lesser teams, like tonight.

Who are the guys who are genuine CL or La Liga title difference makers, and wouldn't look out of place in Pep's Barca squad? Pedri for sure, Lamine on form for sure. Garcia looks a good goalkeeper, I think De Jong is a good midfielder. The defence is woeful - as others say Garcia and Cubarsi are soft as fuck, Kounde is absent-minded, the left-back Martin tries but isn't that good, Balde is overrated. Casado doesn't seem up to much in mf, Lewa is finished. Torres gets arse-licked on here but he will never ever be a difference maker come the end of the season, Raphinha is a one-season wonder.

Maybe I am taking a very negative view of the above players.

The rest of them really aren't special at all. But as I said to @RedxMAK and @MonteCuler nd they said back, football is in a lull right now and most squads are not that impressive, not just Barca's. So they still have hope.

But playing this kamikaze high line that Flick insists on you really lessen your chances. I have never thought Flick is the god that Birdy, delancey, Temptation and others make him out to be on here. I don't think he's as clueless as Messi983 or IniestaGOAT do, but I think he's just a 'good' coach and no more. There's so many holes in the way he sets his team out. Tbh it would have been punished in La Liga last season too if Atletico and Real hadn't been abject.

Non Barca press writing about that second yellow and penalty. Both debatable, one more, other less.
Truth is, Greeks were back in the game and we didn't play good up until that point and team has no reason to be happy too much.

Maybe he could have turned it, but to me looked like the player went to say some terrible words to the ref and after that he could never turn it. (As the shit talking would be another yellow).

Moronic comment from the OP but ref made a mess of it IMHO - yes it was a foul by Casado with the bear hug, first but hand to eye/face is probable

Unfortunately, the referee was inconsistent with his interpretation of what constituted a foul and certainly could’ve given more yellows for shirt grabs/pulls as well but 10 fouls for Olympiakos over 90 min is ludicrous. Probably lent itself to the 2nd yellow as he felt players with a warning need to be more careful and Hezze was not

On balance though, shame about the red because it killed the match although we’ve predominantly been on the receiving end of BS calls like what the Greeks did in the end - inconsistent to apply makeup calls though. Even the penalties he couldn’t get right

I think what we are now experiencing is no different from last season November and December

Difference is we win games now, which is positive. We're playing shit for 5-6 games yet we only lost Sevilla and PSG. Until we pick ourselves up it's important not to lose a lot of points

And I remember last season when our form improved people started saying how Flick changed something or added some pragmatism to his game. I said it's bullshit he didn't change anything and we will probably still concede shitload in big CL games (as we did), although we had a streak of clean sheets in league. It's just that players stopped with donkey finishing, their confedence's gone up, they played with more brain, some important players came back from injury and suddenly we had 4-5 absolutely fantastic months of league football

This teams fitness isn't on a level needed. You have to change your strategy based on that. We can press for 20min max. Last season he demanded us to press the whole game. What happened?

Pressing is our best defense. Without it the whole system falls apart.
