Would the PSG -> Liverpool -> Bayern/City draw have been better?
Ironically that would be a much harder draw yes but I think we would have higher chances of reaching the final

Just if we would somehow scrape against PSG other teams are very much beatable

And Arsenal I don't know how beatable they are. Of course everything is possible but on set pieces alone they should murder us

Flick needs to play more defensively in these knockout matches.

Actually, perhaps! Sometimes the hardest team on paper isn't the hardest team we could face. Many factors to take into consideration, such as their playing style and tactics, injuries, current form, and psychology of playing a certain team.

Where is this coming from? We beat Atletico every time we play them, except the last game. Those CL fixtures from a decade ago are not relevant as these are two wholly different teams at this point.

I'd say we are actually very good at unlocking parked buses compared to other top clubs.

We would struggle much more against the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool than Atletico and Newcastle.
I just prefer our chances against some teams which match our playing style, as this is where we usually outperform our opponents. Playing against defensive and counterattacking teams makes me terribly nervous with our shaky defense and high line.

And it's telling when a defensive team scores 4 against us. Thats hardly a walk in the park.

The draw is alright. Obviously we should beat Newcastle even if they will be a very live underdog.

Atleti just smashed us 4-0 in Copa and then Arsenal could score about 5 from set pieces if they are on their day.

Thing is if you are Atleti, Barca or Arsenal then you are looking to that side of the draw and thinking how doable it is to reach the final.

While if you are Bodoh Gimp you are also thinking you can reach the final too.

Atletico has just beat us 4-0, they aren't easy opponent in QF if we both qualified. They also knocked us out the last 2 times we faced in CL iirc

Last 2 times was long time ago.

I am pretty sure after the Copa 4-0 game we will kick their sorry ass really hard if we meet them for CL QF

Final is definitely possible, if we have our full starting XI available in QF onwards. The easiest bracket possible.

Hansi has been insanely lucky!
2nd year in a row in the new format that we are in the right (blue) side of the bracket, which is piss poor compared to the left

2nd domestic treble in a row and 2 CL semis in a row is not bad at all, considering where this team was before

PS: My gut tells me City to eliminate Madrid, Bayern to reach SF, Liverpool to take revenge against PSG.
Bodo-ARsenal might be interesting

Second domestic treble?

Pretty happy with draw overall @Temptation

City have a very tough path, Arsenal get an easy one but will probably screw it up along the way. Not great for Liverpool having to potentially beat PSG and Bayern/City but I don't have much expectation about this team anyway.

Right side of bracket is pretty underwhelming overall. Barca could easily make final if they get their stuff together.
