Newcastle is a good draw but Atleti in the QF and Arsenal in the SF suits us less than, say, Liverpool in the QF and then Bayern/City in the SF in my opinion. At least we would have some open games against those kind of teams. Atleti/Arsenal just screams shithousery, corners, set pieces and counterattacks.

Atletico has just beat us 4-0, they aren't easy opponent in QF if we both qualified. They also knocked us out the last 2 times we faced in CL iirc

And they also have the return leg at Metropolitano but getting into SFs wouldn't be of much help either with Arsenal awaiting there to score for fun from set pieces.

The path to semis is nice but Arsenal on our side of the bracket probably means SF is as far as we gonna go

Unless somehow Arsenal doesn't get to SF... but that is almost impossible

It's not that Arsenal is some superteam but their way of playing is very well suited to our high line

Ideally they would get worn down by EPL title bid and having to win each week in physically tough league.

They are in final of League Cup and still in FA Cup also.

Maybe takes its toll even if have a big squad.

That hammering in last game could be best thing that happened to Barca if meet them again.

In terms of teams could meet Atleti are not even close to toughest could get in QF really... at least on paper.
Not toughest but we tend to not do so well against teams that play defensively. Makes me nervous.

Where is this coming from? We beat Atletico every time we play them, except the last game. Those CL fixtures from a decade ago are not relevant as these are two wholly different teams at this point.

I'd say we are actually very good at unlocking parked buses compared to other top clubs.

We would struggle much more against the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool than Atletico and Newcastle.

Great draw. We cannot look past Newcastle but facing Atleti again is a matchup I want.

They can have the Copa win but we will get revenge in the CL.

Flick needs to play more defensively in these knockout matches.
