So first it was safety reasons, now those are all address, it's security?

Why da fuq didn't they tell them that as well during the first visit.

Was just holding that in the back pocket, in case all the safety concerns were addressed?

You don't fuck around with these things. We won't open until everything is by the book. No amount of media PR from the club is gonna change that.

I don’t live in Barcelona but Ricard is head of BIMSA which is the local company overseeing infrastructure for city projects like Camp Nou. He also happens to be the spokesperson for Suma Barça which is a Laporta opposition group. This group joined with Victor’s group to demand Laporta’s resignation over Olmo registration

So Ricard is not related to Victor but aligned and openly in opposition to Laporta and conveniently appointed by City Council (Collboni) as a technical liaison to ensure compliance which he insists have unresolved safety issues

Effectively he is the technical gatekeeper for CFO that City Council approves and as he is a political adversary it is quite clear it is a proxy battle over Barça politics

I've personally seen political red tape destroy incredible projects because of jealousy, but the thought of the self-sabotage of Barcelona fans stopping the return to the Camp Nou because of personal vengeance would take the cake.

Seems a bit too far fetched to me.

I think it's more likely the board know the Camp Nou is not going to pass and are utilizing the us against them to buy time and put pressure on the local authorities and way from themselves and the construction company who nobody talks about.

Wouldn't surprise me, if the city council looks way more thoroughly than needed here, because Barca picked the Turks instead of a Catalan based construction company. We're not talking about peanuts here, but a multi-year long 1,5b contract, that creates thousands of jobs, pays dozens of sub companies as well. If you want to find something, you'll find it in a huge construction site like this.
This country is corrupt to the bone, one of the worst corruption indexes of Europe, the mayor is a perico. I don't say they make things up, but I'm very certain they would have been way friendlier if Laporta would have picked a home company.
Same shit as Tebas with his CVC deal and making Barca's ffp situation hell, because they dared to refuse his deal and made their own, which was way better.

This really is an uncertainty. It's on a game-by-game basis now. PSG game was known a while back to be played at Montjuic. Sociedad tickets now released at Montjuic. Next home game is Girona 18th Oct and tickets are not for sale yet, and not for Olympiacos either, which I assume means the club is hoping to get the all clear.

Still another 3.5 weeks to get things done.

It's been on a game-by-game basis for almost a year if you're listening to the club.

I have no idea when it could happen. It could happen in October but it could also happen in October 2026 or 2027, all scenarios wouldn't really surprise me that much.

Still, before you could buy tickets far ahead. Now people don't know where they will be watching the game until same week of the game.
