Haaland if there is any choice whatsoever.

Alvarez plays more of the Raphinha role and most of the good things he is doing is from those areas at Atleti.

Atleti struggle with him at CF when teams sit deep. It is the reason Sorloth plays.

Barca will face that near enough every week.

Sell Raphinha off to Saudi and get Alvarez if want him.

Torres, Guirassy & Kane are the safest bets considering our finances.

Torres is a safety net, he is decent starting striker but below Barca ambitions (and history).

Guirassy is the cheap option.

Kane is the grandpa strategy.

Possibly a young signing with Torres, like the "Bro" kid from Molde, or Meite from Rennes, the later will cost 50M+ even for now, though.

PS: why isn't this in the Poll or General boards?

Gistau has link up levels above likes of Guiu did and has physicality.

Def has a chance if he can add goals.

Really he should be scoring a lot of goals at this current Atletic team level at 17/18 if to have a future in first team.

Would imagine the fee and salary for Kane would be far too high and without much prospect of renewing or selling at that age makes it unlikely.

Kane is soooo good for Bayern, dream signing for 2-3 years...
Signing strikers who are short of leaving their prime, or are already even beyond it like the Lewandowski transfer was out of short-term need in addition to having low funds. We shouldn't make it a normal strategy and try to get someone who can occupy the spot for 10 years.

Barca never had a striker who was here for a decade. Barely anyone remained competent enough more than half of such duration.

This isn't gonna be a situation of being picky, it will be one of "pick your poison " situation.

There won't be one who checks half of the demands that fans will have, and it will be again a situation of fans hoping that some magical scouting will land us a top striker for cheap.

Gistau will change both dynamics, a masia striker who stays for 10 years.

If not him, then the next man up, so on and so forth until we finally get a masia striker

There is no such thing though. It's instant quality for 3 seasons like Kane for cheaper transfer fee but big contract, or 120-150m for a Haaland or Alvarez for big ass contract fee and big ass salary as well. One of the two. And if we don't have money for either next summer, which we won't, it's good ol' Ferran Torres.

The only good part is we will see how good Ferran Torres is this season. If he can score 35-40 goals or not. Old ass Lewa bagged some absolute killer goals last season, including in the big games. Can Torres do that?

Kane would never be a cheaper transfer and Lewa hasnt been either.

Players at that stage of their careers largely want paid.

Barca were just fine wihout Lewa last season.

Won/were winning every game and scored more than average.

The most he was missed was probably defensively vs Inter from set pieces.

Ferran scored away to Atletico twice, scored equaliser v Real in final. Scored v Inter in CL semi final. Got three assists v Real in league decider etc.

Did well enough in the big games last season also.
