According to Gianluigi Longari, we are on the verge of signing 19 year old LB Patricio Pacifico

Swipe of Valverde to him.

Must be for B team.

Liking all these punts and players going out on loan/moved on before contract runs out.

Amaral making his mark it seems.

I'll duplicate my message from the adjacent thread here....

Konate, Guehi... Guys, it's time to remember that Flick wants a LEFT-FOOTED central defender.

Then signing Senesi makes most sense if we are so broke that we falsy accused Schloterback of being slow.

I thought about Diomande from Sporting, but he is also right footed.

Agreed which many of us would agree is the ideal sporting model for the club - founded on La Masia and fortified by WC talents and external youths with promise
That is ideal sporting model for every club in world... covering all bases there.

Barca were in past derided for taking punts on young players and folk like you claimed 'Barca should never loan players' as doesnt work.

Just nonsense.

Barca are doing right thing in getting players out earlier for a % and fee if contract running down and also loaning much more players out than in past.

I would bet with these youngsters Barca have seen how likes of Chelsea and EPL teams have created their own market for buying and selling young players and take punt on them more and more.

These lads almost certainly have been identified on databases as raw but if can click Barca can make money on them even if dont make firts team.

Those two defenders.. sure as fcuk database has been used for.. tall, left foot, CB, quick, aggressive and put up some names that are worth a chance for what can be if improve other aspects.

What cant happen is these signing impede La Masia and have players leaving as blocks path and that is why will see more and more loans out.

Barca has always signed players at that level, from the days of Edgar Ie and Halilovic, to the Pedri's, Araujo, Wague, Abde to now with those new kids. With dozens we don't even remember

It was rarely that amount within one window, never mind a winter one. But it is same strategy, sign kids who are barely known for marginal costs (likely all less than 1M, except Hamza if we buy him).

But in few years or months we will see if the application was right, or just another names we will forget they existed

Barca have always signed players but this feels a bit different in signing players that are more 'raw' but have the phsyical characteristics club need and if can improve them can work out in profit or first team.

Too often felt like the club has concentrated on technical players to come in in these type transfers and hasnt worked as much.

Feels like a signal change for type of players they want to take a punt on both for first team and to sell on as other clubs want similar profiles if dont make it.

Chelsea have been the masters of that albeit often on more expensive younsgters.. take those in that other clubs will want profile of if dont quite make it.

Left footed CBs that are quick and have decent power height is just that.
