It’s truly terrible timing for Liverpool to become serious.

Van Dijk for two years would have literally solved everything.

The link doesn't work.
But Deco works in synch with his team and Flick, he himself admitted he isn't the one selecting GK, as it isn't his area of expertise, which is actually the right attitude.

But Deco is the one who makes those decisions at the end, by Laporta own admission.

I am/was a hater of Deco but if he pulls this Garcia deal without any loan than it's his first great deal for this club and huge positive points in my book. He'll fuck it up with Trashford but getting rid of terrorism is more important than a backup LW.

It is never good to hear from an organizational perspective that a club president identifies much leads a negotiation for a target in the absence of a sporting director. More than it concerns me that Laporta is identifying targets is that we don’t have the appropriate club staff to do that without a President who has far more to oversee than a transfer

Sure, maybe come in to help close the deal but leading? I find it another example of rudderless sporting department

I can't give him any credit for signing a super huge Cule Catalan, who is living in Barcelona and is on a cheap release clause, and who has no other big club options.

It would be like giving Ronaldo credit for an open goal tap in. It's the most obvious transfer of all time. I mean, there is another open goal tap in, in Mingueza and Deco has put that one near the corner flag.

I just want us to be linked to one player which doesn't make me want the transfer window to shut early. Just one.

There are ton of reports that the deal was identified by Deco's staff along Flick.
I mean it depends on which reports you want to believe, people always tend to belief the reports that aligns with their pre-existing beliefs.
But honestly, Laporta was never a guy identifying targets through out his Barca career, I feel such rumours are far fetched

Perhaps

I want to believe in Deco but in just about any line of work you recognize those who contribute to overall success and I have yet to be convinced of this from him

I meant more that he is the first one in 10 years who saw what MATS really is and went for a new GK. Most of our former SDs and coaches would play MATS for another 5 years regardless of his performances.

Well, we should wait until it's official that Garcia will be in our squad for the next season, you can never know how these guys will fuck it up until it's 100%.

Two "exotic" forward options.

Benfica academy product making a name for himself in Denmark - Franculino Dju. Gives me a (young) Isak vibes.

Costa Rican playing in Russia - Manfred Ugalde. Seen him linked to PSG and PL clubs and will almost surely leave Spartak Moscow this summer. Looks similar to Julian Alvarez.

@Porque Your scouting report on Yan Diomande? Not really much out on him and didn't watch Leganes this season but looks another one out of the Samu Omorodion (before going to Atleti) and Juma Bah (obviously different positions) category of players that some EPL club will pay their clause (around 5m) and see how they develop.

Some footage playing for Ivory Coast.
