We are seriously fked next season if we don't sign a striker. It's arguably the most important position in the Flick system due to all the chances created.

Gyokeres fixes so many problems with the team it is untrue.
The lack of a physical presence in the box killed us tonight. We had nobody who could hold the ball up and maintain possession. An outlet. And Lewa has not really been doing that either.
Gyokeres would give us that. Aerial presence in the box for crosses. Help defend corners. Give us the DIRECTNESS this team lacks. Give us extra pace and acceleration up top. Help solve the fact we have nobody who can take direct free kicks.
He is the perfect striker for this team but they want Alvarez or Isak, neither of which provides any of the above bar Isak's speed and Alvarez's set pieces.
This team needs a striker who is going to score shit, nasty, dirty, UGLY goals. We only seem to score beautiful ones and that's just not sustainable long term.

Lewa is old, and you cannot rely on him when games are every 2-3 days. A 30-year-old Lewa sees us through 10/10, but it's not going to happen when he's 37 or 38. It's the same as now.
He is a reliable scorer on the box, but his body wont keep up when the games come thick and fast like now.
Ferran is nowhere near good enough to see us through. Did you see what Thuram did? What Latauro did? We don't have a single striker that can do that.

We scored 3 goals twice in what us arguably the best defense in Europe, while Lewa is out.
This is with Lamine having a howler in his finishing, Raphinha being contained due to no Balde, having both fullbacks out, Olmo having a shit game.
Offense could do some upgrading, but it isn't a priority.
Defense is the priority atm, we need guys who can hold their own against fast athletic opponents, we need big guys in corners, we need centerbacks who are capable of providing world class performance in nights like this.

The attack basically just needs one extra rotational option with a bit of quality to keep legs fresh. PSG for example can rest players for a whole game because Barcola could come in and Dembele could rest or Lee, Doue etc etc.
Barca basically have to bring on the likes of Raphinha etc against the Valladolid’s of the world because the rotational options aren’t great.
