I've tempered expectations for next season because they are almost certainly going to try to squeeze another year out of Lewa , and at his age, he will definitely be worse than this year.

The big fear I have is that their plan is to go big on Isak or Alvarez in 2026. Spending 9 figures on either of them would be a disaster as we would have the same problems as we are having now against top quality low blocks in terms of a lack of physical box presence, or outlet who can hold the ball up and take pressure off the defence.

I get the feeling that our Sporting Department is still bullheaded and gets tunnel vision in its philosophies. One of those philosophies being a big, strong striker immediately means he is technically inferior and thus beneath the great tiki taka Harlem Globetrotters football of FC Barcelona.

I sensed the same elitism when we were in for El Pistol Suarez as well. That philosophy will fix nothing and we will have the same problems as we had last night.

Barca need to humble themselves a bit and throw some cold water in our faces. We are not beneath CROSS AND INSHALLAH, and though it shouldn't be our go to tactic, we need players in our team who can be effective with it when Plan A isn't working.

Now I know come winter we desperately tried to offload Ansu for Rashford, which in hindsight would have been a huge positive move, but these are the decisions that even without a transfer fee budget, can make or break a season.

So going next year, we need to be honest about how we dip our toes into the free agency pool aswell. Better to have Jonathan David than no one, perhaps.

We don’t really know what’s realistic or not before we know the salary cap margin, audit of the VIP boxes, and any eventual sales.

What you’re saying makes sense though, but a couple of sales and a GK and even ST might become realistic as well.

I think it's simply the case that we are now working on it as of now. I think we will start our transfer operations in June.

We want semi starter in both ST and LW.
We either go for two different players or a single one that fills up both.

This is the reason I like a Lookman. Or even Rashford. Plays both positions, and would have been competent enough to step in when needed.

Going big on either of LW or ST will make sure we lack the other.
Either go for Rashford on a loan, and an ST like Gyokeres/Oshimen for around 60m. We can do that.
But I don't see that we can do the other way round. Not a lot of strikers that are cheap or could be had on loan. So we wont be able to do this.

Use the remaining money to strengthen our Fullbacks.
And maybe if we can sell Araujo for a reasonable sum, go for a CB too.

This makes sense to me. We need semi-starter LW and ST for sure, while Fullbacks need backup.
We not swimming in money, so we need to be strategic.

This is why it could be smart playing Landry then wasting 20-30mil on RB? If landry kills it we dont need nobody its Balde who needs that help/sub

Thats the Striker done avoiding paying high for an Isak - not that good or Alvarez - too short ...Haaland is the perfect replacement with a young Gistau or Diarra behind him.

But I assure you, there is no team in the world that will buy Fermin and Olmo for anything close to 50m.
Same for Ferran.

We are not getting Wirtz, and its not a necessity this summer. Our weakness wasnt the Midfield or the CAM.
But it was having no reliable backups and semi-starters on other position of the field.

We dont have a lot of money to spend. So whatever we have, we need to plan strategically.
Going Galactico is never an option, and our club's financial situation is a result of our ex-president doing the same while neglecting the core of the team.
