Deco came out and confirmed we are working to sign nico, that we met with his agent is working to close the deal and that in all likelihood araujo stays and we won't be signing a CB.

I didn't like that he came out and mentioned Nico's name directly, it's just going to piss off athletic even more

So confirmed Tek will renew, so the goal keeping situation will be interesting next season

Piss off Athletic as in how? They won't ever accept a sale without the buyout being paid. They took themselves out of the equation, it's just a matter of us finding a way to register Nico Williams at this point. Either we do, and he comes to us, or Bayern get him.

Athletic never negotiate a sale.

There is no point on being friendly with them.

And generally, fan owned clubs has presidents who want to act "tough" and they will never be friendly to Barca. Whether it is Osasuna, Bilbao and obviously Madrid.

Yea true, but I don't think it's a good idea to name drop transfer targets, it leave a bad taste and other clubs not just athletic may have a bad reaction to it.

Why not be transparent at this point?

Also what do other clubs matter? Deco talking this openly means Nico made his decision.
