Rayo isn't getting 25M for Ratiu, they surely would love to have it, but it isn't going to happen. Their record sale is 10M, it will be something if a 27 years old RB breaks it, never mind doubling it. There is the Almeria kid too, who is also very good (and massive for a RB). We will find proper one for less than 20M.
LB is an interesting argument. I get what Jam says about Martin, he proved last month that we could actually do worse than him. He is no longer in the "anyone is better" category.
The problem with LB is it doesn't seem like there is a valud cheap option, unlike RB.
Ait Nouri has team option that will be picked for 26/27 season. He will cost 40M+
I wonder if Carreras is valid option? I thought no way it us going to happen, but it looks Real set their eyes on either Hato or Theo, Manu is out of the race of classic LB. City has some interest in natural LB but Gvardiol isn't going anywhere. If we are willing to splash we might have a chance on him.
Grimaldo, Theo, Hato etc are going to be costly. Maybe try to get Lucas Hernandez on loan from PSG? He is more injury prone to Balde but surely an upgrade over Martin? Maybe there is some hidden gem out there, I don't know tbh.
I don't think we will sign a GK, but if we do J.Garcia and L.Chevalier are clear over every other candidate. Valles is FA but hasn't played in a full year.
CB will be dependent on departures, Tah is the obvious name but it hanges on Araujo leaving.
I don't think we will sign anyone in midfield, LW options have been discussed a lot through the year.

For LB, I would take a chance with Alex Valle. Getting regular time with Como and performing well.
Plus, he can play at RW too.

I have come to the réalisation that Gavi is the most useless CM we have bar none. Pedri brings creativity, dejong and cassado brings some stability, olmo and fermin score, Bernal will bring in his size next season. Then u have Gavi. What does he bring to the table ? Nothing. IN AN IDEAL WORLD this is the one I sell but it will never happen.

Valle didn't do well in Scottish league, and was shown the door by Flick.
He is a better player than Martin, but it is about fit. Valle is more suited to slower pace & gradual build up of the play, rather than the run and gun German style.
I think we should just be happy with the 6M and move on tbh.

Even if Ratiu costs 15-18m it would be a good deal.
We might get away with only signing one FB if Torrents is deemed to be good enough to make the step up and essentially be our LB backup. He's certainly 10x more talented than Gerard Martin and is also a bigger FB standing at 1.85m.

I do question his move to the Scottish league though. thought it was a bad choice from the get go.
It's more his performance in Como that gives me hope. I guess we'll see what Flick has in mind this pre-season.

I think Barca will take the money.
If they sign a LB it will be an experienced one I think and if they bet one of the younger guys it will for sure be Jofre Torrents.

Torrents had ACL then came back, then got a major hamstring injury. He has played less than 600 minutes in 3rd division, all at the age of 18.
I hope he reaches his potential and be great, we need it. But I would prefer to keep him with B team another year and see how his body survive.
It is a massive gamble to count on 18 years old injury prone kid as backup fullback, for our injury prone LB.

I think Jam was being sarcastic.
There is another LB option- Raphinha.
When his offensive goals dry up he could be converted to fullback with Nico (example) in front of him.
Guys like Juanfran (Atleti), Jesus Navas and Cuadrado prolonged their top tier careers by re-converting back.

Very quick, decent at progressing the ball.
But most importantly cheap.
You could say you get what you pay for, but I believe the options at FBs in general are quite meh.
The other options are what Vanderson and this Dodo guy I didn't know existed until recently and is a midget.

He seems like decent option for RB, concidering, salery, age, value, speed..
Doubt we can get someone better for that money.
