There is nothing all that populist about saying would contact Messi to try and repair that relationship.

It would be expected and a fairly tame answer not trying to link Messi to campaign.

But why does he have to mention his name right now? Font should win votes with clever ideas about the future, not with statements about Messi and negative comments about Laporta. It sounds more like Font wants to revive the Club de Amigo.
I had my doubts about Laporta at times, but after seeing how well Barca has developed, i want him to get re-elected. He can say all he wants about transfers etc. as long as he does the important things right, and he does.
But these Font statements probably only came about because he knows he has no chance and the socios are fully behind Laporta.
