And if I win, I will call Hristo Stoichkov.

Brainless populism. Messi is already in the past, the greatest chapter in the history of the club. But past.

Nah Messi will have closer links to Barca in future after Laporta and it will benefit club.

There is nothing wrong in saying will try to resolve that relationship.

Laporta would if he could.

In what way you envision Messi having a beneficial role in the club? Post Laporta speaking.

I saw Iniesta visited the training sessions recently, hugged all players. But so what.

Laporta is trying to burry the hatchet with Messi, but what went down will be hardly forgiven for the coming decade.

In a way I don't think making peace between a new board and Messi will bring the club any success. Just some sentiments to make everyone feel good for a short period. In addition to that Messi has never shown any bad feelings towards the club, he loves and supports anything going on at Barca.

Messi is not going to get involved in this after the last time.

Marc Ciria has a chance to position himself to win the next time after Laporta's tenure ends if he does his job well. He has the support from a some of the fan groups too.

No one is claiming Messi will have role in the club but it is important to have him linked with club in future.

Obviously he detests Laporta.

It is important likes of Messi has that link to Barca.

Same reason Laporta would love to be able to do it and has lied about Messi even since the fall out.

Last time Messi got involved with the politics of the club was his ultimatum to Bartomeu in 2020 after the 2-8 vs. Bayern.

I don't think will get involved this time, though.

Not even remotely similar and doubt he gets involved directly either as doesnt need to. Laporta will be there for another few year max anyway.

Messi got involved in the politics at Barca constantly as a player no doubt but pulling weight as player is very different.

The problem with Font mentioning Messi isn't it being wrong per se, but because Font is again trying to catch the populist fans. Laporta is the ultimate "populist" and it will be difficult to catch his game in that.

Sure, Messi is a card that Laporta can't use anymore, but I doubt it is that big of a deciding factor. Font just dances around who he is, is he a populist? Is he a new blood with fresh ideas? It feels he tries to be all in one but fails in being any.

Then again, it might be inevitable to talk about Messi regardless of your plan. The media will press on it and you can't distant yourself from it.

Messi visited Camp Nou constructions in unofficial capacity few months ago. He's always welcome.

But anything related to Laporta is out of question. It's personal.

There is nothing all that populist about saying would contact Messi to try and repair that relationship.

It would be expected and a fairly tame answer not trying to link Messi to campaign.
