Ansu Fati (loaned to Monaco)

We need to have open squad positions and FFP before we submit any potential transfers to LaLiga for approval. Having exits agreed early in the window as well as renewals is a huge step forward compared to the previous seasons- even if LaLiga are relaxing the rules.

Now I am going to throw a spanner into things. Sorting Ansu out so early with a potential transfer fee may point to one direction only- Mendes who doesn't do anything for goodwill.

Could Luis Diaz and Rashford talks be a smokescreen for Rafa Leao?

Mendes is getting the advantages of us pushing half of our La Masia gems to him, his biggest client atm is Lamine, by some massive margin, even Balde is probably one of his more important clients, with more to come.

Leao isn't having shortage of suitors either. Almost every big club that isn't Real Madrid could use a high profile LW.

I think our Laporta's connection with Mendes is good thing.

He will always have one of the best players in his hands, so they can make bussiness.

If Leao can get his head out of his ass, I can start ratng him again like I use to.

For now, pass.

He'd be a distraction

Remember the days when Birdy would come in and tell us an amazing player we should sign, but never say who it was, so we had to spend days asking him to spell the beans.

I miss those days, I wish he could tell us a LW that isn't Diaz, Leao or Rashford.

Now he just tells that to the Liverpool SD directly.

If Flick believes and is truly convinced he can get Rafael Leao to focus and work hard as Pioli managed to do for two seasons then sign him, if he's available for a fairly reasonable price.

You get a player capable of giving you 20+ GA in the league then, in the prime of his career. Good 1v1 dribbler and explosive. Can play LW and if you need it in some situations as a striker as well.

Those are some big questions/concerns though that need to be answered.

That's true, didn't think about that.

Hope so. If these are our only choices (shouldn't be) then Leao is the best by far. I think he would gave more effort at a club like Barca and under a coach like Flick. It's still a gamble but better to gamble on him than Diaz or even that English overrated bum.

I really really hope the media having no clue about our true intentions since Flick has come in continues and that they're just recycling old news about Diaz, cause they've got no idea who we're actually after.

I think we can get Leao for around 60M...Milan gonna need cash, without Europe next season too.

But we should really do it before they cash in for Reijnders from City...but sadly I don't see it, at least not quickly enough. Price is only gonna go up as time goes on, cause Milan might need one or two big sales (Reijnders gonna be one, Leao/T. Hernandez probably the other. Before Reijnders deal closes, we could probably get Leao for maybe even closer to 50M, but 60M would still be a fair price. while 70M or more is pushing it...maybe 60M and a player, but I have no idea who, especially with Fati already going elsewhere, cause he'd actually be the perfect bargaining chip, cause Milan just love to take a chance on fizzled out young prodigies lately.

Gonna be super pissed if we actually spend that money on Diaz, or even just half of that on Rashford, when we could easily get a much better player in that price range, if we're seemingly going all in for a LW this summer. Gonna be the same shit with Coutinho (Olmo) and Dembele (Diaz) throughout two summers all over again, when we could've just gotten the right player(s), Nico last year or Leao this year, while Fermin would be developing even more quickly (and he is actually worth the starting spot too).

So just get Leao (or Nico), please. Don't fucking screw it all up now, when we're only a few key good signings away from actually completing the rebuild, at least for a few years.

Terrible move for us. Ligue 1 is a physical league. He'll get eaten alive there. We'll basically pay most of his wages, with less than 5% chances of that buyout clause being activated. Truly shite.

But it is what it is. Basically nobody is gonna take him even for free without some trial to see if he's a finished footballer or not.

Basically Brighton part II. Probably worse since Brighton at least paid 80% of his wages reportedly. Doubt Monaco pays 80% of his wages for next season.

Tax cuts alone will save us ton of money my man. It is essentially half of his wages saved by that alone, then whatever Monaco pays him is just a bonus.

I guess it's better than nothing. Pretty much the only good thing about it. I hoped some club would at least take him for free while covering the entire wage. But I guess considering the way he played... slim chance.

We were talking about renewing him to defer the wage. A club totally taking him was never happening. If anything the Monaco deal is too good to be true and I won't be surprised if it collapse.

But if it goes through, I am embracing myself for his return for the last year of contract, or us negotiating buying it out.

Doubt they pay 50% of his wages. Anything is better than nothing I guess. I've already accepted no one is going to buy him due to his wages, this is honestly the best we could hope to do.

Flick: "Iñaki Peña was sad about being replaced eventually, he has always given his all in training. He's a great professional, that's why he deserved to play today."

Translation: "Fati trained badly, isn't a professional, so he didn't deserve to play"
