Alexander Isak

Even if he'll be 110% professional from now on, having a "heart" for a club is so much more decisive.
And in this mess I do believe Isak, Newcastle fucked up - now they expect him to play for them with "passion"? Nah, they should practice some self-awareness if shit went down how I think it went down...

No, they will sell him in the end, but they want to send a messagge and they should. Or else any player who has a good season will throw a tantrum to leave.

I dislike the idea of American/Chinese corporate owned clubs, but state owned clubs like Man City, PSG and Newcastle are even worse. The flow of money is endless and any irregularity is overruled in supreme sports court.

I would only excuse Isak as an idiot, if he didn't know he was coming to Saudi Arabia's prime club on the planet. The lesson was not learned - PSG don't sell their stars. Mbappe wanted out for two years, Qatar didn't give a fuck. Here's your contract, solid as concrete. Mutual termination? Call Florentino if he's interested in paying 150m for your release.

The amount of money Liverpool are ready to pay is also mindblowing. Isak is worth as much as 60-70% of that amount on the current market.

Newcastle is craazy

150m, I would take it and never look back. With all due respect. He's good but not 150m good

They probably still deluded thinking they are bigger than they are. With or without Isak they are not winning shit

And also why do people here say "stay away" lol? We are never signing this guy

Owners don't need the money, hold the line and sell him next season for 100m
But they need to make money so they can buy. These days with PSR it doesn't matter how much you have as you are hamstrung by that factor too.

Gone are the days where teams can just spend a fortune without worrying after cash injection (though some teams clearly still cooking books).

Truth
Interesting video in my view only to show how clubs only think about transfer fee - whether it is valuation and fair market value or generating needed revenue. Otherwise nothing noteworthy about player himself, sporting reasons or any other - just money...and that's simply business. In football, it operates under a near monopoly setting in terms of legal oversights on contracts

Now in most lines of work, even under contract, you can negotiate with another company and head for the exit provided you respect the terms of termination in your contract - notice period & bonuses etc, while in football its defined primarily by a certain fee. A fee which is not always about the true valuation or market value but perceived threshold to avert the state clubs easily depositing a bag of money on a whim

In Eriksen's case, club has right to hold him to an objective fee but that number should be aligned up front or in contract else club's can easily overstep their position and exploits the player for money

A handshake or an implied exception to terms of a contract are too complex to leave to chance - define as part of the contract risk being left to the honor of the parties involved

Problem is that Isak didn't have a big status when he joined Newcastle. He was no Haaland. He made himself a target for top teams while at Newcastle.

That works both ways as a buy out clause would seem less outrageous for Newcastle and less likely ever to be an issue.

My guess would be with the amount of money in EPL now and vast majority of clubs having no need to sell star players for FFP these clauses will come in more and more as players move there.

I think with more money, clubs will be more averse to putting buyouts.

Clubs will always have upper hand when negotiating with agents who are too eager to get their commissions. Maybe if you have top agent like the Railoas and Mendes of the world

Agents get a lot more commission if they can get a buy out in place that allows their player to make a another move again to a bigger club.

If the key word.
Granted money from clubs not willing to insert buyout clause, vs a potential bigger pay if the player explode.
They will always choose the former

Agents try to negotiate as low a clause as they can in Spain all the time where clauses have to be in play. It is not true they always want more money now at expense of that and the potential win down the line is much bigger than what get at time.

They will back their players to improve in EPL and take the risk for that bigger pay day.

The player an agent also have the position to reject the move if clubs wont agree to it.

Huijsen agent probably just made a fortune for example by doing just that.
